Nail polish?

How do I get finger nail polish to stay on? I can put on 99cent to $4 polish, 1 coat or 10 coats. Comes off quickly either way. When I put it on my toes it stays forever though and I wear flip flops all the time.

Nail polish?
Always use a high quality basecoat such as Stickey, by Creative Nail Design. There are others that are good too, but be sure they are high quality products. This will give the polish something to 'hold' onto, and it will last a lot longer as a result. It will also protect your nails from getting stained by the polish. One coat is enough, and it doesn;t have to fry thoroughly before you apply the polish, but do let it dry for a minute or so. You can use this on your toenails as well if you want to.

Also, avoid cheap polishes. They aren't worth the trouble for the little money that you save. Stay with top names like OPI, China Glaze, Essie, CND, Color Club, Nailite (Yeah its cheap, but its a good polish!), and so on. Use polish that is fresh, and has not hardened in the bottle, even in the least bit. If this happens, you can buy a product made specially for this purpose, called polish thinner. Don't ever use nail polish remover for this purpose, it will ruin the polish. If your polish is too thick, just add a couple of drops of polish thinner to the bottle, shake it up a bit, and you are all set. But, you can only do this one time. If it gets thick again, you must throw it out.

Reply:I love O.P.I. nail polishes at Sally's Beauty Supply. Just apply two coats and let dry and then finish off with a top coat nail polish (clear top coat).
Reply:I had the same problem. Go to a Beauty supply store ( I went to Sally's ) . This is what I got: Beauty Secrets HARDENER high gloss to top coat. Put this on FIRST and your polish will stay on at least a week or longer. Good Luck
Reply:Your finger nails flex and bend a lot more than your toe nails do, that's one reason you get chipping and peeling. If you start with clean dry nails, put one coat of a good base coat

I recommend Orly "Bonder" base coat

or

Stickey by CND

two coats of your favorite color (doesn't matter if it's 99 cents)

finish with a coat of Seche Vite Quick dry top coat

every other day, add a coat of Seche Vite

You should have few problems
Reply:use a top coat of clear nail polish. it's notmally written "top coat" on it. it prevents chipping and gives yr nail polish an extra shine.
