Is black nail polish the new trend for nails even if you aren't goth or emo.


Could a girly girl wear black nail polish as a fashion statement?

Actually, black and variations of other dark colors are very attractive, but there are a few 'ifs'...


If your nails are neat and of a medium length, it looks great. Black on long nails looks creepy (unless it Halloween), and on very short nails it looks goth or emo.


If you are dressed to kill in a dark (or black) outfit, then black can look very glam on your toes too!


There are also some good black alternatives out now that are deep maroon, purple or blue with hints of blue or red sparkles in them. Try OPI "Midnight in Moscow, or "Lincoln Park After Dark". I like those better than black because they are more interesting (and they cause people to look closer because the hidden colors catch the eye).

Reply:You can definitely wear black polish if you aren't goth/emo! The one thing to remember though is to keep your nails nice and short...black polish gets very overwhelming on long nails. Also, make sure you use a base coat (to help protect your nails from staining) and a top coat (to make your polish appear fresher longer). Have fun! :D

Reply:black nail polish is deff. not for emo or goth chics...im surfer/skater and i sumtimes wear black nailpolish rite now tho i have hot pink...howev. if u have really lite skin like rele pale black may not be the best choice..i had taht prob.lol but i use this tanning lotion so it totally works.

Reply:Nail polish will never be a fashion statement. And goth and emos don't have to wear a certain color of nail polish. Black nail polish has been classified under that "section" of people. This is just the label that ignorant people have given to it.
Reply:Yes, many celebs even have black nails. If you wear it with the right clothes then it can look very classic/ elegant. A "girly girl" could totally paint her nails black. do whatever you want to that's you when u plan ur looks. Ur personality should show in ur clothes. as long as its "you" go for it : ) if ur fashionable and like to take risks, why not try black nailpolish?

I have a Sally hansen polish that is a black cherry color but from far away looks black. Dark hued blues, greens, and purples are really pretty too. Also black with gold or jewel tone tips or accents looks nice. GO for it GIRL!!!

Reply:You don't have to be goth or emo to wear black nail polish. Personally, I think it looks really cute. I wear it sometimes, and it pretty much goes with every outfit. So, to answer your question, yes, a girly-girl could wear black nail polish.

Reply:Try a french nail version which you have black nails and white tips. You can also try nail art on black polish if you can find a really good manicurist in your area. It is trendy %26amp; pretty and doesn't look too dark personality. If you still have reservations about black, you can try on a dark blue to start.
Reply:Yup, I see lots of girls wear black nail polish. Just make sure you cut your nails short, and it will be fine. If you have long black nails, that is creepy and goth-like. But I prefer the classic french manicure! Simple, clean, and elegant!
Reply:You could wear black, but it's actually over as the actual trend. Now it is dark colors that look black from a distance, but are actually dark purples, navy, or really dark red.
