I want to learn how to speak polish. Where can i find any sites?

I have a polish neighbor. And I would love to speak polish with her. She knows english and she is teaching me some fluent polish. Also I want to know more and know more faster. I also think it would be a easy and quick language to learn plus a fun language too. Do you have any idea where I can get emails that send me an email every week teaching me polish? Also like on the emails it would have windows that pop up and say it out loud on a voice thing. Thank you. Please give me any links or ideas.

Polish and Russian?

Are Polish and Russian the same thing, or like descendants???

Polish and Russian?
Of course, Russian and Polish are not the same thing. They belong to the same group of Slavic languages (along with many others), but they are different.

You can read more if you like:

Russian language: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_lan...

Polish language:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_lang...

Good luck!
Reply:they're definately not the same thing, they don't use the same alphabet, but there are certainly a lot of similarities.

There's a polish girl in my russian class and she seems to find it a lot easier than me because some of it's similar to her own language. I don't know the history of it or anything but that's my experience on it.
Reply:Only because you're so young (I suppose so - you like Hannah Montana), your question can be excused...

Look, in the world, there are some groups of nations (which very long ago had common history, e.g. are descended from certain group of tribes, nowadays use quite similar languages). One of these groups in Europe is Slavic one which includes, among others: Polish, Czech, Slovak, Ukrainians, Belorussians, Russians, Serbs, Croats, Slovenes. That group contains 3 sub-groups: West- (3 first mentioned nations), East- (3 next) and South- (3 last) Slavic.

All the structure of all Indo-European languages can be seen here: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en...

So, as you can see, Polish and Russian are both Slavic nations, but that's all. Because of the history of Poland, Polish rather don't like Russians generally.

Eventually, Russians and Polish have common descendans in remote history (just like English and e.g. Swedes).
Reply:NO NO NO

Poles and Russians are two VERY different things.

Polish-english translation please?

i have no idea how to spell Polish words but i'll try my best.

what do "spierdalai" and "curva mach" mean? i'm pretty sure i spelled them wrong.

just asking out of curiosity, because i hear them say those words all the time...

Polish-english translation please?
They are extremely bad words. They might have the same definition as in english, and even though the english words might not seem as bad, if you say these in polish, it is veryyy bad.

Spierdalaj means sort of like "get the f*** out/ away".

Kurva mach means "mother f***".
Reply:Diamond is right, these words are very ugly and offensive.

The correct spelling is:

spierdalaj

kurwa mać

ps. sorry for swearing :(

How do i take nail polish off fake nail, without messing the nail up?...EASY 10 POINTS!!!!?

i got my nails done bout 2 weeks ago, but i have painted them so much, i cant paint them anymore, without it looking bad...Anywayz, wut im getting at is: i wanna keep my nails on but i want to take the nail polish off of them...all i have is acetone nail polish remover...can i use this or do i need another kind of nail polish remover...is there something else i can use?

THANKS :)

How do i take nail polish off fake nail, without messing the nail up?...EASY 10 POINTS!!!!?
Obviously the people didn't read that you ONLY have acetone. Use 75% or higher rubbing alcohol.
Reply:You have to use a non-acetone polish remover. If you use the acetone remover it will make the nail thinner and you would need to replace them.
Reply:if it is acrylic then just nail polish remover if it is plastic then you cant with out removing the nail
Reply:You cant use acetons remover on artificial nails - acetone is a solvent for PMMA (the polymer that makes up artificial nails.)

Instead, buy non-acetone polish remover. If you dont want to scrub the polish off, soak some gauze or cotton pads in the remover, put them on your nails, and wrap some aluminum foil around them. Give it about 10 minutes, then the polish should be dissolved and rinse right off.
Reply:thatll work just fine

make sure that u don't go to hard.

good luck! : )
Reply:Get non-acetone nailpolish remover. However, your nails won't be as smooth and shiny if you do them yourself. Try getting a buffer and smoothing them down before you paint them, too.

Polish living in Britain? how are you finding it?

Just curious to know how the Polish people that have come here to work feel about their stay here?

I know you are mostly hard working people and we owe you a debt from WW2, I just wondered if you have found us Brits freindly or have you faced animosity?

I have no probs with the Poles coming here to work.....x

Polish living in Britain? how are you finding it?
My boyf is Polish, he likes living here. He works hard, pays taxes and enjoys himself. He's at uni and is studying hard too. I am English, and all my mates think he's great - and he has adapted really well to British culture, unlike some Poles he has been forced into watching some "good" British TV like Corrie, Eastenders, Holby City hee hee and so he has an excellent grasp of "British Society".
Reply:Essex Ron, to answer your question; Auschwitz was in Nazi occupied Poland, and was liberated by the Red Army of Russia.

As for me, I am not Polish (although some of my fathers side of the family come from parts of what is now known as Poland). However, I do have a couple of friends who are Polish. One works in the local supermarket, and his wife works part time in a kitchen supply shop. They love it here, but they have experienced some xenophobia. I also knew a Polish refugee from the WWII, who was an elderly neighbour in at my last address. He was a lovely bloke who had come over here with his wife. He had been a teacher, but couldn't get work here for several years, eventually he worked in offices. His wife died shortly after arriving here in England in the 1940's.

The two Poles that I mention, have never made any comment regarding us owing them anything.
Reply:With a stupid question like this I am not surprised to see you don't allow email.

We owe the Poles NOTHING - of course they lost a lot of people in WWII, but so did most of Europe. If you look and see, we entered the War specifically to protect the integrity of Poland. They didn't fight to save US - we all fought together against the Germans.

That is no criticism of the Poles - it is a criticism of your ignorance.

I was saying only today, however, that most Polish, and indeed ALL Eastern European, people I have met, are hard-working, polite and pleasant. What I would like to do is get rid of ALL our useless people, of whatever ethnic origin - mainly, probably, British - and replace them with Poles and Eastern Europeans. I am fairly sure that, because of their work ethic and demeanour, most feel welcome here and reciprocate by contributing to Britain.

Including the British who, for reasons that are difficult to comprehend, believe that WE owe THEM a dept.

A little quiz question for you - what country is Auschwitz in? And who liberated it?
Reply:I live in Manchester and know some Polish people as well as other East Europeans. Not them is the problem here in Britain, but the millions who live on the s..t benefit system this useless government brought in.They get so much money from benefits they have no incentive to work which I find quite normal. Why would you waste time and energy working for the minimum wage when you get so much more money from benefits without breaking a sweat?

And when you see these bas....ds whining about immigrants that take up jobs you start thinking what's wrong with them.
Reply:we have some Polish people in our town. they are good folk, they seem happy and fit in really well. personally! i welcome them into the country. we also have a lot of Muslims.....(an entirely different story) i would say that any one coming here to muck in and do their bit!! is a bonus to the country. ( i don't give a dam what! colour they are or where they come from. any one here to screw around with our security! or puke their hate fuelled cave dweller bile onto our streets need to be removed. ((forcibly)) before they destroy us all.
Reply:I'm polish and 'forced' into soaps by my lovely scottish fiancee too!! I cant say I've faced any animosity from any british people, and i have plenty of british friends.
Reply:i thought we went to war against the germans to protect the poles who were being invaded. so how do we owe them a debt. its the other way round. they owe us
Reply:First of how do we owe them a debt to ww2; we went to war on There behalf and when there country was over run we gave them a home. Read some history books
Reply:probably the same way the germans felt about british builders in the 80s or the spanish now.
Reply:i like it alot work good and british people i know are all nice. and i work hard for my money too .
Reply:What debt do we owe the Poles for WW2?

As I recall it was Germany rather than the UK who invaded them.

What makes nail polish to create bubbles after applying?

I always want my polish on my fingernails to be smooth and even. But there are times when there are hardened gas bubbles or blisters (or whatever you may call them) on it after applying. Is that because of too much polish, or is it because of the heat or expiration? And how can I prevent them?

What makes nail polish to create bubbles after applying?
This will usually occur when you have applied a layer over another without the first one drying enough. The trick is patience, apply a first single coat thinly, allow to to dry completely and then apply a second coat and you should have no more bubbles.
Reply:Caused by to many coats applied without allowing each coat to thoroghly dry. Adding a dryer expedites the process.
Reply:Do you shake the polish before applying? that may be the problem
Reply:I was told by a manicurist that it was caused by shaking the bottle too much also. The best way to make sure it is mixed correctly is by rolling it between your hands, and then letting it sit for a minute or two while you soak, etc.
Reply:I read the answer to this in "Deep Thoughts", by Jack Handy, but it escapes me now.
Reply:I always roll the bottle between my hands for a couple minutes and it prevents those bubbles. I don't shake it because it can sometimes actually make bubbles.
Reply:its a combination of too much polish and you touching things beofre your nails are dry.
Reply:The reason for the bubbles is you are applying the polish too thick or you are applying layer after layer and it doesn't have time to dry. SOLUTION: Polish your nails in thin layers, at least 1-2 in between the other, so that all nails dry evenly. Apply clear nail polish, and voila!
Reply:it is often because the polish is not blended very well. make sure to shake the bottle a good bit (there is usually a little ball in the bottle...shake it until the polish is thick enough to barely hear the ball rattle.

it could also be that the polish is kind of cheap/old.
Reply:I was told by the gal who did my nails that the bubble are caused by shaking the bottle too much.

How do you get nail polish out of carpet?

My very naughty cat knocked over a small box of nail polish and one of the bottles broke. I now have several small nail polish stains in the carpet. I'm afraid that if I use nail polish remover it will ruin the carpet. I would appreciate any advice on this. Thanks!

How do you get nail polish out of carpet?
With experience of my two daughter carrying RED fingernail polish and spilling it up my stairs here is what I did....

If you have Berber Carpet Skip this part...

I took some scissors and tried to cut out some of it. BE CAREFUL not to make a HUGE bald spot... this is going to thin out your carpet a bit however better than a BIG spot....

Secondly, Get some Acetone or some nail polish remover... Be careful because this will smear the polish and possibly fade your carpet... I would try to cut out as much as you can with out balding a huge spot in the carpet....

Use a towel... WHITE so the color won't bleed onto the carpet.... Lay the towel over the Polish... then, in a SPRAY bottle spray the remover onto the towel.. BLOT the towel and try to pick up the stains verses rubbing it in.... Rubbing is only going to make a bigger stain. This is going to take a few towels...Patience, and time.... continue with these steps until the polish is out of the carpet and on the towel. Make sure when you get the polish lifted onto the towel DO NOT put the towel with the polish back on the carpet! As when you spray the towel again that polish will be back into the carpet! Like I said this is going to use a lot of towels but, it is cheaper than replacing the carpet!

BLOT BLOT BLOT! and step on it to get the stain transfered on the towel. It will work just be patient... When you get fustrated walk away.. your spot is not going anwhere... Until you finish the steps.
Reply:carpet stain remover!
Reply:try nail polish remover or Bam or some other strong stain lifter
Reply:If it's dry, i'm not sure. I spilled a whole bottle of polish on my blue carpet and I immediately blotted it up with paper towels and rubbed with a wet washcloth over and over and over. It eventually came out. But I found the information below online.

Nail Polish

Apply acetone or amyl acetate (polish removers), but take care with synthetic fibres, as both of these dissolve some type of rayons. Wash or sponge with your usual laundry product after treatment.

Remove any remaining colour with a bleach, using a chlorinated laundry bleach for white cottons and linens. A diaper wash/sanitiser container sodium percarbonate for colours, and hydrogen peroxide for wool and silks.
Reply:There is a wonderous cleaner called "OOPS" it is for removing paint.. nail polish and almost any type of paint or gum based substances. It dont hurt your eyes or nose either. Safe for you to use bare handed.
Reply:Try bleach.

Polish connecting rods.?

Hi,

I am replacing rod bearings in my car and I am wondering if it's safe to polish the connecting rods to get rid of the old bearing residue on them using a fine emergy cloth. Is there a risk of making them smaller?

Car = 1989 Camry 3S-F

Cheers

Polish connecting rods.?
The amount of material you would remove from polishing hardened steel with an emory cloth would be negligible. If it makes you feel better, go ahead.

I'm wondering why you would need to replace the rod bearings? If you have so much wear out of them that they need to be replaced, it's probably a good idea to measure the inside of the rod bearing surface for tolerance. A worn bearing will also create wear on both the rod bearing surface as well as the crank bearing surface. It's common practice to machine down the surfaces and use an oversize bearing. This can only been done by a competent machine shop with experienced engine builders. If you just slap in a new bearing you'll end up trying to mate the new flat bearing surface with the worn surfaces on the crank and the rod. These irregular surfaces surface will create pressure points that will slice right through the new bearing, and you'll end up with the same problem that got you to this point.

If you've disassembled the engine to the point where you can get the rod bearings off, Then you should take the crank and all the rods (rods and caps) to a speed shop, have them turn them down, measure them, and make sure a standard bearing set will still fit. If not, you might have to order an oversize set.
Reply:No, it's not a good idea to polish the connecting rods. It will

make them smaller. Probably Enough to let the bearing spin.
Reply:If you'd like to go the extra mile have your connecting rods re-conditioned at a an engine builders shop.

Both ends are completely re-sized to OEM specs. They'll kick out the rod bolts if necessary and refinish the flats so the big ends of the rods will be once again perfectly round.

You can have the crankshaft journals checked for size and finish. Have the cylinder dimensions checked and either honed or worse case bored and honed. After checking the dimensions new rings and pistons may be necessary. While you're at it have the rotating assembly balanced. You'll love it and so will the motor.

You see I like spending your money. I guess my point is, while it's apart go the distance and do everything right!

Polish/Belarus workers?

There have been a lot Polish workers coming into our country to work. However, is it true that a lot of people from Belarus go to Poland to get work?

Someone told me this at the weekend and just wondered if it was true.

Polish/Belarus workers?
There are some workers (maybe about 100 thousand) from Ukraine in Poland and some Belorussians either many of them work illegal but all these workers can't fill the gap after Polish workers who works in Britain and Ireland. Remember that differences between Polish and Ukrainian salary are much lower than differences between British salary and Polish salary.
Reply:What country you from? im in Australia and work with alot of polish people. All kinds actually. Some are really good hard working people some are lazy. Why anyway mate have you got a beef with them?
Reply:I'm surprised to hear that there are many migrant workers from Belarus in Poland. There is not a good relationship between the EU (of which Poland is a member state) and Belarus, so I wonder if these people are working legally.

(Nor is it quite true to describe Belarus as formerly communist state)
Reply:Yep! and Lithuanians - the Poles left to get better paid jobs here and they left to get better paid jobs in good old Polski.

What a way to live - the footie stadiums for the Euro 20whenever it is, were allegedly not going to be ready coz all the Polish builders are now here - so they got workers in form other former commie states

Why won't my nail polish come off?

I went to the nail salon and she put this polish on my nails that i can't get off with nail polish remover, I checked the ingredients and it does have acetone in it and it is not a cheap brand either. Is there something else that can get this polish off? Cause I ve been scrbbing and nothing is happening..

Why won't my nail polish come off?
soak your nails in the remover for about 15mins or until you notice it loosening..if that doesnt work.. go back to the shop..she should help you with no additional charge.
Reply:buy a new polish remover or spray a perfume on ur nails and remove quickly by cottons ball :)
Reply:If the color is dark, the dyes in it will soak into your nail, making you scrub AS HARD AS YOU CAN and try soaking your nails in the nail polish remover dipping tub, like Sally Hansen's Kwik-Off, it gets anything off! You should get your money back!!!
Reply:go back to the salon to get it taken off there
Reply:let them soak in it for a while like 10mins then try she could of used a nail lacquer which is harder to get off than regular polish best of luck
Reply:The percentage of acetone in "nail polish remover" is sometimes not effecient in taking off good quality salon polish. Just get some plain, pure acetone. It's available in drug stores and beauty supply outlets in the same section as nail polish remover. You need less of it and it works very quickly.
Reply:try a different nail polish remover or go back to the salon and tell them what happened.they put it on your nail they should be able to take it off.good luck

Polish genealogy source to watch...?

OK, so this is less of a question and more of a heads up. But there is an ongoing project that anyone interested in Polish genealogy may want to bookmark and check on frequently. There are volunteers going through all of the marriage records in Catholic and Lutheran churches around Poland and digitizing them for internet searches. This is probably the single biggest leap in Central European genealogy in our lifetimes...and for many will be the only way to find your ancestors' hometowns in "the old country". The caveat is that you have to be patient. They only have 138,000 marriages indexed so for...and literally millions to go.

I've been watching it for more than a year. My own great-great grandparents just came online this week. It's worth bookmarking for the next time you need a boost in your research.

For "unknown" regions: http://www.przodkowie.com/metryki/en.php...

For Posnan marriages: http://bindweed.man.poznan.pl/~bielecki/...

Polish genealogy source to watch...?
kudos to you, girl... here is something I found the other night that might also help Polish researchers.

(hint... I right clicked on the map itself, and saved the image to my system. Works great to use in windows fax viewer, so it can be zoomed into. )
Reply:Wow. Is this another project LDS or other?
Reply:I might add I have been told that Jewish records can be found in Catholic and Lutheran parishes as they were required to register their vital information, births, marriages, deaths with the local priest or pastor. What was probably an aggravation at the time has helped to preserve their family history as most synagogues were destroyed.

A Morman friend told me that as some cousins of mine who were also friends of hers located their family history that way.

and u can tell her

kocham cie z calego serca (i love you with all my heart)
Reply:I feel for ya, pal. My girlfriend is Polish and I want to tell her the same things. I struggle to construct every single sentence that I manage to type out in a text message. Five sentences sometimes takes me an hour to properly construct. Polish is the hardest language I have ever tried to tackle, and I have learned three Native American languages, Hungarian, Greek, Latin, and Hebrew.

English translation of Polish song by Kasi Kowalska?

I'm curious about the translation of the song Jak Anioł by Kasia Kowalska. Counting to ten is about the extent of my knowledge with the Polish language, so I'm hoping that someone who speaks Polish will come across this. I like the sound of the song so I'm interested in knowing what she is actually saying. Here are the lyrics:

English translation of Polish song by Kasi Kowalska?
Hey tigerseye,

I think you should try posting the question with native speakers in the Polish forum. Here:

Reply:I too can only count to 10 in Polish, but I thought you might find the machine translation below helpful, in case a native speaker does not post a response for you.

Did anyone see the new Polish Pub on TV that's just opened up in Reading?

Looks like Reading has it's first pub for the Polish community.

The Polish owners said they want English people to go in as well with their Polish friends.

I wonder how many will ?

Did anyone see the new Polish Pub on TV that's just opened up in Reading?
Nice to see they are integrating so well into our community ! What next, a nice little Polish ghetto ? that would fit so well next to the Pakistani, Indian, Somali, Bangladeshi, and West Indian ones ! isn't multi-culturalism great !
Reply:Hopefully, it can only be helpful, until some English drunk, starts complaining about the amount of English jobs going to Polish community, and where the housing stock is going? when a Brit can't get a council house from the local authority for love nor money, I am not trying to be negative, but I can see it all ending in tears. I hope I'm wrong.
Reply:Polish pub lmao!!!
Reply:Great news if true.?
Reply:not many, Is it called 'mr sheen's'
Reply:Polish people are decent and hard working. I think it is fine for them to set up a pub.

The poles aren't the ones trying to blow us up all the time after all.
Reply:I wouldn't fancy it myself. Good luck to them though-at least they are trying and not calling us evil infidels for drinking alcohol
Reply:Probably not many english will go in, but good on the Poles. We brits move to spain and open hundreds of crappy bars selling carling and all day breakfasts.

Nothing wrong with a polish bar, bet it will rake it in
Reply:just a response to anthony. the truth is that they now have 52% of our new jobs and i know that ppl say that ppl from over here are to lazy to work but there are more ppl who are willing to work than sit on the dole so that is one minor point. also where i live it is incredibly hard to get housed because so many polish are homless. this is comming from a working no drunkin brit. its good that they have there own pub where they can mix more with their own ppl and not feel as alienated but now there is so many polish in the country it is becoming more of a way of life so i would say that there will be plenty of brits drinking there in good course

Help my nail polish stay ON!?

I polish my own french manicure on my real nail and the white tip polish starts chipping in no time.

It's the worse when I shower! Heck, I want to get clean and take my shower every night but I'm sick of having to retouch my nails after I shower

Help my nail polish stay ON!?
do it AFTER you shower and get a top coat start doing things more carefully!
Reply:theres a spray you can get at the store and it dries your nails in 2 seconds. spray it 1-2 times and it will protect your nails. also yous a top coat of clear polish.
Reply:File the entire tops of your nails a little 1st. Then apply bottom coat, color, and top coat.
Reply:What i do is paint the tip on, then paint on clear nail polish, let that dry,(sometimes i dip my fingers in ice cold water to help it set better, Then i paint an whitish color over the whole nail so it will blend in, let that dry paint one more color on the tip, let that dry, paint one more coat on to the whole nail with the whitish color, then paint all over with clear nail polish...That usually last me a week then i have to remove it all and start over again.
Reply:top coat
Reply:I put a fresh coat of clear nail polish on mine...if i see a tiny chip before that on the tip, ill put a ot of white polish, before it gets too big
Reply:You need a nail dehydrator spray...it sounds like your nails get oily and soak up excess moisture. You can get the dehydrator from Sally's (if you've ever had nails put on, it's something they put on your nail before they apply the gel or acrylic...it helps the nail hold on). Also, try Orly Bonder rubberized base coat, and a good hard finish top coat (Sally Hanson's Hard as Diamonds is good).
Reply:apply more coats of polish
Reply:coat ur nails a buch of times with clear nail polish, or got to the nail salon and get the "gel fill" on ur nails. it really works! =) what they do is they put gel on ur nails and it drys up (french manicure)
Reply:Make sure that you are not putting the white on too thick. You must also follow up with a clear top coat. Good quality top coat. You can use any polish as long as it is protected. You should make sure that each coat is applied thinly also. Putting it on too heavy will chip the heck out of it.

Polish vodka with a blade of grass in the bottle?

My father-in-law is a retired airline pilot. One of his mementos was a bottle of Polish vodka with a blade of grass in it - it was a variety or a size NOT EXPORTED to the USA. A couple of years ago, the bottle was stolen by a younger family member when the house was left open. I happen to have a friend that will be going to Poland in a few days on business and I would like to suprise my father-in-law by buying a replacement bottle. Does anyone know what brand the vodka is? It is a special proof or size that isnt imported here.

Polish vodka with a blade of grass in the bottle?
WYBROW is one brand but any ZUBROWKA (generic term for buffalo grass vodka) will do

The grass if buffalo grass so do a search on "buffalo grass vodka"

And the reason it isn't imported into the USA is that there is a chemical in the buffalo grass that isn't allowed in drinks in the USA - well done your FDA people

Ok I painted my toe nails a really cute color but I wore socks today and it made all the nail polish dissappear! The nail polish was DRY (Cause it's been on for 2 days before that) before I wore the socks. ANyone know why????

Socks and nail polish?
first you might want to check your socks and see if the nail polish is on them.

Then you have two options

1.change nail polish

2.apply a top coat and base coat next time.

Black finger nail polish?

I hate pink and my favorite color is black so I wanna wear black finger nail polish but my friends say its a bad example for girls to wear black finger nail polish is that true

Black finger nail polish?
black finger nail polish is awesome. Pink is so cliche now anyway. I don't like the way your friends think. Get new ones if you really want to start your new goth life.
Reply:black nail polish is NOT skater i hate wen ppl say it is grrr

black nail polish is punker dark goth gross
Reply:Why don't you just go play in the mud--you'll get almost the same effect--only cheaper. lol
Reply:No, i have some cover girl black nail polish. It is fine now for everyday wear.
Reply:black is perfectt!! also a dark navy blue is cute! theres nothing wrong with wearing dark nailpolish.
Reply:i love black nail polish...just make sure your nails arent too long because then it just looks trashy

but short black nails are really cute and go with everything!

(and no its not only for punks/goth/emo kids...it looks good on everyone)
Reply:I think it can be heaps hott if teamed with something that's not emo/goth
Reply:I think it's awesome! It's a way to really put yourself out there! I say if you like it go for it! Be yourself!(=
Reply:I love wearing black. But my boyfriend hates it, WHO CARES! You do what you want. I dont think it looks gothic anymore- It can totally look hot if dressed up with a cute outfit and non/gothic looking making up, exc. Go for it!
Reply:Unless your goth, you could wear black nail polish. But im not so i dont recommend it.
Reply:Do what you want. Black nail polish is very punky, skater, goth, emo, or whatever you want it to be. I personally don't like black nail polish, but I do like super dark plum or red polish, which is very sexy. But remember... it's about what you want, not your friends.
Reply:there are other colors find one that is not so extreme
Reply:I wouldnt say so! I like wearing black too but I dont wear it alot. I cant tell you the last time I wore it. But I think that wearing black nail polish is starting to be a fashion. You see a few celebs wearing it, and some people you see everyday. They dont have to be punk or goth to wear it, I dont think. I dont know why it would be a bad example for girls.
Reply:I hate black nail polish, it looks nasty enough when you first put it on but wait until it chips !
Reply:Actually, black nail polish is really in style right now, so no, it's not a bad example. It can look really elegant. Also, I'm not sure how any color of nail polish, whether in style or not, could possibly be a "bad example for girls." That just doesn't make sense.
Reply:Black fingernail polish USED to be a statement of being punk or gothic, but now it's more of a fashion statement. Huge superstars such as lindsay lohan and Nichole Richie and Eva Mendes are wearing black. So it has more of sheek look now more than it ever has so I would say it is A-ok to wear black, especially if you don't like pink :)
Reply:Do whatever you want sweetie! I'm a guy and I like my toes polished. Usually blue or black.
Reply:no black is so coming back
Reply:No way! First of all, if you really like something, your friends are nobody to stop you. Second, black polish is very in. Chanel Le Vernis nail polish in black is being sold out in every department store. Trust me, I should know.
Reply:I dont like it. It gives you an emo, gothic type look. I just love it when my gf where's red or pink polish. She looks so hot. Also it depends on your style. Like my gf is a blonde and she looks really good in it. It just depends.

Polish Joke?

Two Polish hunters from Chicago hired a pilot to fly them to Canada to hunt moose. They bagged six.

As they started loading the plane for the return

trip home, the pilot tells them the plane can take

only three moose.

The two Pollock's objected strongly, stating; "Last

year we shot six moose and the pilot let us put them all on board and he had the same plane as yours."

Reluctantly, the pilot gave in and all six were loaded.

Unfortunately, even on full power, the little plane

couldn't handle the load and went down a few minutes after takeoff. Climbing out of the wreck, Stasiu asked Wladek, "Any idea where we are?"

Wladek replied, "I think we're pretty close to where we crashed last year."

Polish cities??

What is the greatest Polish city?? Reasons??

Polish cities??
Krakow is beautiful because it's old and has a lot of culture. It also has cobblestone streets and a castle downtown. It's full of exciting little shops and restaurants.

The tri-city is three cities Gdynia, Gdansk, Sopot and is in the north of poland by the baltic sea. It's also beautiful there.

I personally don't like Warsaw as I find it to be a cold city, people don't speak to each other, everyone's too busy. A lot of the buildings have been destroyed through the war so it doesn't have much history left, just a lot of new buildings.

Krakow's more laid back.
Reply:Warsaw? I'm not sure if that is spelled correctly. A friend of mine is from there.
Reply:Warsaw is the biggest, if that's what you mean...

I would say Krakow, Gdansk and Wroclaw, because they are the most interesting.
Reply:Warsaw.

It has a little bit of everything. There's something there for everyone!
Reply:Personally, I think Krakow. It's cosmopolitan but not too big. There's lots to do, good restaurants, shopping, good accommodation. Lots of attractions - Auschwitz (of course) and the Wieliczka salt mines. Nice, friendly people.

Warsaw's ok. To be honest, other than the old town, I didn't find it very interesting and it's really big, hard to get around.
Reply:Warsaw 'cause its capital of government and Cracow (polish Kraków) 'cause its capital of culture.
Reply:Narewka
Reply:Szczecin!!
Reply:I Would Say Warsaw or Krakow because thy are rich in history and you'll probably not get bored in any of these cities.

Polish funny or not its an old one?

One day, an immigrant from Poland entered a New York City Police Precinct to report that his American wife was planning to kill him.

The police officer on duty was intrigued by this, and he asked, "How sure are you that she is gonna kill you? Did she threaten to kill you?"

"No," replied the nervous immigrant.

"Did you hear her tell someone else that she's gonna kill you?"

"No."

"Did someone tell you that your wife is gonna kill you?"

"No."

"Then why did you think she's gonna kill you?" asked the exasperated police officer.

"Because I found bottle on dresser and I think she gonna poison me!" He handed the police officer the suspect bottle.

The police officer took one look at the label on the bottle and started to laugh out loud.

The immigrant became indignant and said, "What so funny? Can't you see the label on bottle said 'Polish Remover'?"

Polish surnames?

what does the polish surname "Prybylski" mean. if it even has a meaning

Polish surnames?
Prybylski is missing a letter from the original...Przybylski.

Przybylski means "foundling" or "new arrival". The name comes primarily from the Posnan region, but also into the Warsaw area. You'd pronounce it "Sha BILL ski"
Reply:The above answer is totally WRONG NONSENSE; imagine a similar comment--

The name Smith comes primarily from Toronto region, but also in the Montreal area.

Also pronunciation is wrong. It should be closer--"pri-bil-ski". I wonder where this nonsense came from--sources? Report It

Reply:The ending SKI means FROM, thus Prybylski came from PRYBYL. It is possible to find a few small towns and villages with this name in the Eastern Europe.

"Prybyl" is not a Polish word, but it is of Slavic origin and it means "he came". I hope it helps.
Reply:PRZYBYLO or PRYLA or PRYBYLSKI (?)

Polish names vary widely by spelling. My uncle and all three of his brothers have slightly different last names, depending on who wrote it down when they immigrated here from Poland. The below may be helpful.

The name PRZYBYLO is spelled in Polish with a slash through the L, and is pronounced roughly "p'shih-BI-woe," where the middle syllable has the short I sound in "bit." It comes from a noun meaning "new arrival, newcomer," and is widespread all over Poland. As of 1990, according to the best data available (the Slownik nazwisk wspolczesnie w Polsce uzywanych, "Directory of Surnames in Current Use in Poland," which covers about 94% of the population of Poland), there were 2,744 Polish citizens by this name; 418 lived in the province of Krakow alone. The origin and meaning of the name itself offer nothing useful in the way of tracing ancestry.

Tracing your heritage in Poland is not the futile effort you might think. You'd be amazed at how many records survive in Poland; I routinely hear from people who've traced their families back to the 1700's. If you'd like to try doing some research in earnest, I recommend buying a copy of Rosemary Chorzempa's "Polish Roots." It's widely available, it's less than $20, and countless

people have told me they found it priceless in terms of the help it gave them in getting started.

Polish girl?

im seeing this polish girl who iz 25 yet iam only 19 she thinks im 22 (my fult) i really like her but should i tell her my age or keep quiet about itlet her figure out herself

Polish girl?
tell her she probably wont mind, im also seeing a polish girl shes older than me and doesn't care. learn some polish to if you haven't already, kochanie (co-han-ye) means darling and goes down well ;-)
Reply:Tell her because if she finds out later on then she will be really pissed trust me on this 1! Report It

Reply:Tell her jerk
Reply:Tell her. Honesty is the best policy.
Reply:figure it out herself
Reply:Tell her now. If the relationship progress's and you haven't her finding out later will be a big problem.
Reply:Oups, sorry the lie is out there, and there is no good time to admit to it, and being found out will not be any better, just tell her and hope for the best.
Reply:yes! honesty is important here,. if you truly respect this person you'll tell her your age!
Reply:I think you need to fess up sooner rather than later. I would tell her you really like her (that way you can see from her reaction whether she is really pleased to hear that) then add 'but I've not been totally honest with you'. She'll think you've been seeing someone else, or have an STD or are gay or something, so when you say it's just your age she'll be relieved.

I think you then need to reassure her that this is (and will remain) the only lie you tell her, that you are not normally dishonest.

You also need to show her by word and deed that despite being only 19 you are not an immature teenager. 6 years is not a massive age gap provided you are grown-up and responsible enough for an adult relationship. Only you will know whether you are one of the 19 yr olds who is.
Reply:Sometimes , everyone likes to believe in those sweet little lies. My advice would be...if you relationship is tending to be serious, you better tell her...cuz she might get hurt ...and never forgive you that you lie to her.

good luck.
Reply:The truth is always the better option.
Reply:tell her
Reply:no.just tell her your age b-cuz age ain't nothing but a number.
Reply:tell her, most girls love to have toyboys!
Reply:let her figure it out, do you think she will say anything before she dumps you as a baby
Reply:awww it's like that song, Jenny don't be hasty by Paolo Nutini.

She thought paolo was 23 because pretended he was but then he was honest with her and told her he was only 18 and then, well she dumped him.

but to answer your question, yes I think you should come clean - because she will eventually find out herself and all hell will break loose and if you do tell her then she'll either just break it off or she may forgive you and carry on like nothing has happened. I think that's better than keeping it quiet.
Reply:Holy cow, I, dont know but Kaliana, if thats you in your pic i want to know if youll marry me!
Reply:You should tell her! If she finds out on her own then she'll have a hard time ever trusting you. And she will find out eventually. Better say it now (early in the relationship) than later.
Reply:Tell her, but for god's sake make sure she's done the polishing first!!!!!!!
Reply:why does it matter?
Reply:polish and german women is the best...
Reply:19 to 25 is no big deal apart from the fact you lied from day one.

And that wasn't a good start to a relationship now, was it?
Reply:You should tell her ASAP!!! how would you feel if she lied to you? No, you wouldnt like it and you would find it hard to trust her wouldnt you? Try and make a light hearted joke about it, good luck your gonna need it!!!
Reply:TELL HER TELL HER NOW!!!!

If she finds out sooner than later the better it will be!
Reply:19 years old why say anything. It all comes down to if she likes you or not!!!!!!
Reply:do not let her figure it out for herself, she will feel extremely betrayed and will think you had never planned to tell her which will make it impossible to trust you

so tell her.
Reply:Tell her, it's best to be honest.
Reply:tell her..! what if shes like wanna get a drink.. wheres your id that says your 21..

Polish workers?

I work in a small factory with some polish people. They talk very loudly among themselves all day long .It would do your head in,any suggestions please?

Polish workers?
Tell me about it they never learn the language, there like bla bla bla sonic bla bla bla Mario bla bla bla all day long im the only English person in the factory.

All my friend are out of work, and they give jobs to the polish what is the country coming to
Reply:Having looked at the responses so far I can see no reason why you should learn Polish and every reason why they should speak English. Maybe make friends with them so that they include you in the conversation.
Reply:learn polish
Reply:Get proper job, stop taking werk from imigrants.
Reply:Live with it.
Reply:why are you bothered?
Reply:Come up to them and say "jak se mas"...means how are you? You shall be screaming loudly in no time with you new polish friends. If you want to know more shoot me an email I speak the language and couple more.
Reply:Learn Polish, i have just the small basics, i have a wee boy in my Nursery who is Polish and his face lights up when i say just one word in Polish...
Reply:Learn a word in Polish... Quiet
Reply:they probably don't realize how loudly they are speaking, have you mentioned it to them? you may want to try learning some of their phrases or such - might draw them into a conversation to hel them learn to speak english.

one that's good for work - HUTCH TO-TIE PRO-SHE (like shed without the D) it's come here please
Reply:And it would bother you not, if they spoke loudly in english amongst themselves?

Maybe have a go at learning Polish yourself, as suggested above. It'll be good for you and them.
Reply:ha ha
Reply:they are friendly people but like you say a bit loud in the morning say gin dobry means good morning tell them your grief i will bet it will stop
Reply:ask them to teach you a few words

My parents won't let me wear black nail polish!?

I really want to wear black nail polish, but my parents won't let me. my mom won't let me cuz she says i look like a goth. i am not a goth! i wear colorful clothes everyday! I need good reasons to wear black nail polish. i really want to wear nail polish, and i get jealous of all the celebs and all the girls in school that get to wear black nail polish.

NEED GOOD REASONS 2 WEAR BLACK NAIL POLISH!!!!

My parents won't let me wear black nail polish!?
I L-O-V-E my black polish! I think it's a really easy way to update and simplify your look. I never wear too much color, usually just blacks, whites, greys and blues; so wearing bright pink or red polish just wouldn't make sense. Black matches with everything - it's like the new french tip.

If you're hep on trends, you'll know that dark reds and purples are also in for this winter - a great alternative to stark black. I would suggest going for darker colors to sort of ease your way into black.

Another possibility is getting a french manicure or pedicure but with black instead of white and leaving the rest of the nail nude. This is also very stylish, and the black won't be too overpowering.

Try compromising with your parents. Ask to just wear it on the weekends so they can see how you would wear it. You could also find some pictures of celebrities wearing darker polish and show them just how UN-goth it is!

Good luck! Happy Holidays!
Reply:paint your nails a very deep burgandy as dark as you can find. I got a color from walmart that people mistake for black when they glance at my nails. that way it's not black obeying your parents wishes but you'll be happy...sometimes you can decline a battle but still win the war, remember that babe
Reply:I don't like it much but I'll try to come up with a reason...

You feel it calms your soul

You need it for a school play? Or a class presentation

It now looks lady like a simple instead of a hyper colour like blue.

You heard it makes your skin tone look incredible and takes attention away from inperfections.
Reply:tell her you have dirt under your nails and the black nailpolosh can cover it!
Reply:I can't think of a good reason why you "need" to wear black nail polish, but I can't think of a good reason why not, either. If that's the worst thing your mother has to worry about, she is lucky. Does she think jealousy is OK, but the color of your nail polish is a big deal?

And what's wrong with goths, anyway? Some of my favorite depressive, caffeine addicted friends are goths. Sure, they only shuffle when they dance, but I've never considered that a character flaw.
Reply:show her pics of like LC who wears black nail polish and doesnt look goth at all

if thats her only reason she wont let you, then it will be pretty easy to change her mind

but you didnt say how old you are.. so if you;re too young i agree with your mother and say black nail polish would be innappropriate
Reply:say that your nails rotted and turned black.

or say that you decided to turn goth a little at a time and the first step is painting your nails black, then never go goth about anything else. or you could just accept what your mom said and realize that black nail polish is actually pretty nasty.
Reply:well. just use navy blue. or dark purple maybe.

my mom doesn't let me wear black either. so i know

lol.. sooner or later they will let you..

put it on your christmas wishlist.. or for your birthday.

you should get it that way :]
Reply:Laaaaame. Just buy some and wear it. Who cares? Its just nail polish- they'll get over it. Its not like you are getting a tattoo.
Reply:Either just paint your nails black anyway or use a similar color, like a super dark purple.
Reply:just wear really dark purple then if your mom gets mad you say it is purple and show her the bottle!!!

trust me it will work!!
Reply:God, get over it. You know how many nice, ORIGINAL colors there are out there? Why not try some nice bright blue or something? Be different for goodness sake.
Reply:Not to sound rude or anything don't look to celebs or at what others do be yourself. Yet don't ever do anything that will make a relationship with your parents go bad. You should allways listen to what they have to say and don't do anything stupid!
Reply:Just to make her mad you should buy really really dark navy blue (it's in right now anyway) and wear it because hey, it's not black but it looks really close to it. Try OPI nail polish in Russian Navy.
Reply:its just a nail polish its a small thing to argued with your mom don't make it complicated maybe you are young to put a nail polish just listen to your mom!its just for you....
Reply:its your nails, not theirs

there is nothing wrong with wearing black nail polish.....i did it all the time and still do

wearing black polish does not make you gothic....its just like any other color

its not like it is permanent, it comes off with nail polish remover....
Reply:get nailpolish that is not black, like really really really dark blue or something. That way you can be like, "hey, it's not black, its dark blue. Stop gettin all up in my business". Works every time.
Reply:If your parents wont let you were black nail polish get a dark color that they will let you were. Don't believe it would someone calls you emo i'm a prep in away so yea just pick a dark color that they will let you wear
Reply:Tell her that you will never come emo but want to wear black nail polish. Just tell her , you will wear you normal clothes like always but just put on black nail polish. A young teacher at my school wears black nail polish but she is not emo. She wears the coolest clothes and is in style not goth. Just really say that you will never become goth but just wear black nail polish. Good luck!
Reply:Use black sharpie.
Reply:My mom wouldnt let me wear black nail polish. I was like, Im only gonna wear it once! I got to wear it, but now I don't like it on me anymore. I dont know what u could say, but maybe try wearing a really dark red or purple. For halloween I wore a really dark red, and people kept asking me what the color was! It looked black, but the bottle looked red! Try something like that!
Reply:start small, with a dark purple, then sneak in some black strpies or dots.
Reply:Show them pics of Laren Conrad, Lidsay Lohan and other celebs with black nail polish. You should have bought the polish worn it and not told your parents at all and if they noticed you would have already worn it. Good Luck!
Reply:Tell your mom that there are no such thing as goths!
Reply:haha.

It's just nail polish.

Not the end of the world...

Besides, it's your nails, not theirs...
Reply:dont be emo
Reply:You dont need to wear it. It is not lady like and looks stupid

How do you get nail polish off with out nail polish remover?

I don't have any nail polish remover, and I have to get this polish off my nails NOW!

How do you get nail polish off with out nail polish remover?
i asked this

use hot water and rub it off oh and paint removal
Reply:i'm having the same problem right now... i'm gonna try painting over it then wiping it while it's wet ^___^

thanks for the help everyone Report It

Reply:Soak them and bite it off is what I do lol

http://www.imvu.com/catalog/web_landing....
Reply:Gasoline
Reply:scrap it off thats all i can think of sorry!
Reply:well, you'll ruin your nails, the only other option is to soak them in warm water for 5-10 minutes then scrape it off with a butter knife or other edge that wont cut you if it slips.
Reply:paint remover, paint thinner, soak in warm water then use emery board or try using some top coat then rub it with cotton before it dries
Reply:jus soak it in wata 4 a long tyme n den hurry up in scrap it off or go 2 a nail salon and ask dem 2 take it off
Reply:take a nice long bath, and then when your fingers are all pruney then you can peel it off. this only works if it has a clear top coat.

also you could try putting other nail polish, and then wiping it off with something. it doesn't get rid of it completely but does the trick:D
Reply:try vinegar
Reply:just leave it alone and then somehow it'll just start coming off.....i know, it's weird. TRUST ME!!!
Reply:scratch it off
Reply:Chainsaw
Reply:go to the store and buy some? i really don't see how else you'll get it off.. sorry.
Reply:what other way are you suppose to get nail polish off if not with remover????? common sense would say just go buy remover and get it over with, but if you want to try some of the lame suggestions you got on the post then go for it but PLEASE believe you wont have any luck with them....just go buy some remover....
Reply:I usually apply a coat of clear and then while its still wet i wipe it off with a tissue. If it doesnt work the first time do it again. This usually works.

Joke on a Polish man and his American wife?
Hahaha! Very funny! I like that, a blur "Polish" to be removed by a polish remover.
Reply:Great joke! LOL!!!
Reply:I had heard this joke before, but he was a Polish farmer, and these parts of the jokes were left out:

...grounds?"

"Yes, I got 100 acres outside of town."

"No, do you have a case?"

"No, I don't have a Case, I got a John Deere."

"Do you have a grudge?"

"No grudge, but I got a barn. That's where I keep my John Deere."

"Does she beat you up?"

"No, she don't beat me up; we both get up at the same time."

There's another line, but I won't publish it because it is racist.
Reply:cute. like the way u show that polish can refer to both person and furniture kinda stuff.
Reply:i have to say im polish and i find this joke to be awsome.....
Reply:really good joke i really like the way you refered to both
Reply:hahahahahahahahahahaha I love it! Great joke. Hehehe I wouldn't be surprised if that happened in real life. It could happen, if the Polish man can't understand English properly.
