Can you polish copper with everyday household items?

I do not want to buy copper polish. Is there a way to polish the bottom of my stainless steel/copper pots with stuff around my house?

Can you polish copper with everyday household items?
You can, but it won't work very well, and it will take tons of elbow grease. It is much simpler to buy Barkeeper's Friend. It is great for cleaning any pot, especially copper and stainless steel.A lot of people keep it handy under the sink. You can find it right by the Comet. It's only $3 or so. They sell it at every Raley's, Albertson's, etc. I've ever been to. Here is the website:

Reply:White vinegar and salt, then rub with paper towel. If you don't have white vinegar then lemon juice and salt will work.
Reply:I polish mine with a cut lemon dipped in salt.
Reply:Just purchase the one called metal cleaner it will work on all metals including copper.

But any non-abrasive cleaner will clean copper.
Reply:For brass use Ketchup let it sit for 5-10 min depending on how bad it is. For the other items (stainless steel/copper pots) I would worcestershire sauce (the acedic in the vinagear eats it away) do the same then wipe clean with warm water. then buff to a shine with a tee shirt (old one that you don't mind throwing away). If you are trying to clean baked on grease on the bottom of pots, scrub with meat tenderizer first then use your normal soap and water. Coffee pots use ice real lemon juice (just cut one in half and squeeze it into the pot) and about a tablespoon of salt the swish the mix around in circles. Clean like normal. Hope all this works.
Reply:Make a paste using flour, salt, and vinegar. Brush it on, let it sit a while, then rinse it off. The acetic acid in the vinegar causes the tarnish to slowly dissolve. Stubborn coatings may require more than one ahttp://fgms.home.att.net/copper.htmpplic...
