How to polish a ceramic tile?

i used a acid stain remover and it has removed the polish of my ceramic tile along with the stain. Is there anything i can polish the tile to bring back its originality?

How to polish a ceramic tile?
Yes, it can be repolished to a luster even higher than the original shine.

What you have done is etched the tile.

You need to buy some automotive rubbing compound at Walmart and polish out the tile to a luster with that. The rubbing compound will cost about $2.50 a can. Use it moist, but not soaking wet.

You can use a buffing wheel ( not a sheeps wool thing) on a circular high speed drill or polisher. Those are about 1/2 inch thick cotton multiple layers and come in diameters from about 3 inches to 12 inches.

It is Polish. Here is a recipe: http://www.thatsmyhome.com/sugarplum/pol...

Reply:Chrusciki (AKA Angel Wings, Bow Tie Cookies, Chrust, Faworki) -- Traditional Polish Cookies

38 cookies 50 min 25 min prep

Change to: cookies US Metric

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons lemon zest, finely grated

2 sheets puff pastry, thawed

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup sugar

sugar, for spinkling (colored Yellow)

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone sheet.

Pulse the granulated sugar and lemon zest in a food processor until fine and fragrant.

Lay 1 of the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured work surface. Brush the sheet with about half of the butter and sprinkle with half of the lemon-sugar. Lightly press sugar into the pastry with a rolling pin. Place the other pastry sheet on top, brush with the remaining butter and sprinkle with remaining sugar. Carefully roll the pastry out into a 12-inch square, about 1 1/8-inch thick. Trim uneven edges with a pizza cutter or a knife to make a perfect square.

Starting on the closest edge, roll the pastry up into a cylinder but stop at the mid point of the dough. Roll the pastry up on the opposite side so it looks like an old-fashioned scroll. Adjust the rolls so they are even and meet in the center. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and freeze until firm, 20 minutes.

Slice the roll, crosswise, with a serrated knife into 1/4-inch thick pieces and lay on the prepared baking sheet. Bake until the cookies soften, about 10 minutes. Working quickly and efficiently, remove the cookies from the oven--if they have lost their shape, gently roll them back together. Let cool on the pan for a minute to set. Turn them with a spatula (take care to keep the shape) sprinkle with the yellow sugar and return to the oven. Continue to bake until golden brown, about 15 more minutes. Transfer cookies to a rack, sugary sides up, to cool. Serve.

Store cookies in a tightly sealed container for up to 3 days.

I'm looking for Polish alphabet software?

Hi I've got windows XP (english version) and my wife is Polish and sometimes needs to type in Polish (where some of the characters are different) can anyone advise of a software that will give us access to the extra Polish characters as and when necesary ideally this software would be free

Many thanks to you all for your help

I'm looking for Polish alphabet software?
You can set your own keyboard up to type in Polish. Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel. Open Regional %26amp; Language options.

Click Languages tab, then detail. You'll see English in the box.

Click the Add button. Then scroll down thru the TOP box till you find Polish. The bottom box should default to a keyboard layout. Click add. You now have 2 keyboards. A symbol will display with other icons on your task manager (bottom right of your taskbar). If you want to change the keyboard to Polish, just click the polish icon %26amp; your keyboard is ready to type Polish characters. What you'll want to do is go online %26amp; find a Polish keyboard layout and print it out %26amp; refer to it, so you know where all the keys are. Switch back to English using the same method.

Alternately, you can go here and type in your phrase without software, then just copy %26amp; paste it in:

Update your post if you have further questions.

EDIT: Just found these instructions, online, just in case mine are confusing. This site also offers keypad stickers and even a keyboard overlay in Polish, that you can buy. Scroll down this page to Language Support and click on 'configure xp'. Below it is even instructions on using the new config.

Reply:It should be one of the regions and setting options on the control panel. Perhaps check the window update site. It going to be a bit pf a hassle if every time you want to type a "ç" (for example) you have to use the character map.

We are second generation Polish, so we are not directly from Poland....I think it is great by the way... I think love is blind and should be open to all!

I am Polish background. Most of the women in my family like black guys. Is this common in Polish culture?
We are all humans.
Reply:Well thanks for making me throwup
Reply:AFAIK, no.

First of all, there's a very, very small number of black people here, most are students. So there's no resident population of African descent.

So, not much of them for our women to develop a sympathy for.

Still, as someone said before, th differences do make it interesting :)
Reply:Whatta dumbass question!
Reply:No. I'm polish and have no over-powering touchy-feely symptoms toward those guys, although the one's that I've met are really nice (non-judgmental but critical). That's good though- it shows that at least some people like others for who they are,not just the skin color. As you can see, there are a lot of racists even these days.
Reply:i ques it could be opposites attract !

Reply:This is kind of a dumb question but, no they do not like black guys specifically at all. They like or dislike them as much as any European. Also you said your second generation, so the women your talking about aren’t even really Polish!
Reply:I'm Polish and noboy looks at the color of someone's skin.
Reply:just a coincident, myabe the reason is that in Poland ppl were very closed for a long time and nearly no foreginers or other race ppl existed.

but still it's too general opinion
Reply:im polish also and i dont think that it has ot do something with ethnicity
Reply:well im the first generation born in the US and no this is very uncommon let me say that but if you live in Slavic village and you are the only poles there maybe they just had to get used to living with other people of color and now they are dating them? I dont know very strange

Is nail polish all the time unhealthy for my nails?

is it better to have bare nails with no nail polish once in a while? or is it okay to always have nail polish on?

for example, once one color starts fading away, i remove it and put a new color on the same day

Is nail polish all the time unhealthy for my nails?
You should give your nails a break from polish after each time you apply it. When nail polish dries on your nail, it actually dries out the fibres of your nail, and the layer of polish prevents moisture from penetrating back into the nail. This can make your nails more brittle and prone to breaking - you would have noticed if this was happening to you. However, you could also have very strong nails, and if you don't notice a problem, it may be fine for you to keep polish on all the time. Another thing you may have noticed is that your nails could be yellowing - this is from the dry nail absorbing some of the pigment of the polish, which is more noticeable if you use darker colors. You can do what's best for yourself, but most people need to take at least a day break between polishing.
Reply:JUST DONT OVERUSE A PRODUCT AND THERE WILL BE NO BAD SIDE EFFECTS
Reply:Yes. All the time is bad.
Reply:yes it will turn them yellow or dingy, nails need to breathe alittle every now and then, but it doesnt mean you will have to go along period of time without polish, just a few days at a time,if nails do turn dingy use a nail whitener
Reply:you should go for at the very least 24 hours with none on and let your nails be natural. then do your filing and buffing, put a nice thick cat of hand cream on and some cuticle oil.
Reply:yes very would should go a few days without it every so often maybe each month
Reply:Give your nails a break, take off the coloured polish, and put a clear nail polish which helps rebuild and strengthen the nail. Try Sally Hansen products I find them quite good. Colouring the nail all the time will eventually stain them, in the same way smoking and red wine stains teeth.
Reply:Nail polish helps your nails grow, I do what you do! lol
Reply:Yes it is, and if you put them on for a long time, they might even turn yellow, so put some clear polish on it might help

Black Nail Polish - HELP!!?

What is the best way to get black nail polish off your skin and nails? I've tried nail polish remover - it isn't working! Please, don't say stupid answers. I just want help!

Black Nail Polish - HELP!!?
Maybe soak your skin in warm water for a while... and then try the nail polish remover again
Reply:Sometimes it still looks dark on your nails, but try your very hardest with acetone, cause that's the only thing that really works. Sometimes I find that after I shower, some of the nail polish I got on like my skin and hands and stuff, has washed away.
Reply:the nail polish remover SHOULD work~*

Perhaps calling the manufacturer -whoever made the nail polish and ask them how to get it off as nothings worked so far*

GOODLUCK*
Reply:Oh lol yeah I get that problem all the time unfortunately its scrubbing at it with nail polish remover which will smudge it ALL over your cuticles and round the corners so scrub until the nails clean. Then I used an acidic exfoliator dipped in nail polish remover on a nail brush to get it off the fingers. LOL I like black nail varnish waaay too much.
Reply:Acetone, or if you get desperate lighter fluid.
Reply:Try acetone. Thats what they use in the nail salons.
Reply:Use polish remover with acetone in it. Soak a cotton ball with the fluid, press it on your nail for a minute or two, then rub the rest of the polish off. For your skin, you can use that, and you can also use an exfoliating body scrub. (Come to think of it.... Scrub your hands with that before using the remover on your nails.) :) Good luck!
Reply:Being a nail tec there is a couple reasons why it won't come off. 1. Does your nail polish remover have acetone in it, that is more "powerful" remover, takes it off faster and easier really. 2. Try soaking your nails in the remover to losen it from the nail then wipe it with a clean cotton ball. 3. What kind of nail polish are you using, better brands come off easier. Think about it would you paint your nails with nail polish that costs less than a bottle of pop? No! I'm not saying getting the $8 bottle of O.P.I but a middle grade brand would be fine. Because the cheaper the nailpolish, the cheaper the materials, and the harder the chemils which makes it harder to come off the nails. If that is the case it sort of "dyed" your a nails and it should be gone in a few days.

Good Luck!
Reply:Boiling water.
Reply:Put quite a bit of nail polish remover on a cotton ball, then press it on your nail for a good five minutes.

This should get most of it off, and if you need to remove it from the edges, a q-tip with some remover should work.

Will nail polish remover damage my paint?

i got a krazy glue spot on my car, a few people have suggest nail polish remover. I don't want anything thats going to damage my car's paint job. Other suggestions have been goo gone, bug and tar remover, mothers clay bar, nail polish remover, and soap and water. What do you think will work?

Will nail polish remover damage my paint?
I wouldn't use nail polish remover. I would try some WD-40 spray, if that don't work I would go to a automotive store and ask for their advise. Good luck!=)
Reply:can not add much more than cliff, but i would go to a good body shop they will know more than auto store
Reply:Do NOT use it. It will cause the paint to crack and buckle and then larger pieces of paint will start to peel off. Do NOT use nail products on your car paint. An auto supply store will have what you are looking for and not for much money.
Reply:If I had gotten glue on my car I would use a razor blade and lightly shave off most of it..then use a little wet/dry 400 %26amp; 600 grit sand paper...then buff with compound. Now...since you obviously can't do this...take it to a Paint %26amp; Body shop and have one of them fix your problem before you really mesh thoings up and cost you even more to fix it.

Immigrants come to Britain because of their own needs and wants, and not to be charitable to Us ,others , or each other. The way some people here are commenting would give the impression that we should be be-holden to them . I see it as Immigration into a Land that cannot cope with their needs and wants. They bring with them legitimate expectations as people. They also bring with them all the problems associated with Housing,Medical Facilities, Schooling etc . The same kind of problems that many an established Citizen of the UK is struggling with . If we cannot give these hopefuls any chances of a solution isn't it a shame to take on more of the same ? If we voice an opinion we are called racists or worse. The newcomers begin to feel annoyed or unappreciated . Who cares about us when we have had to put with the same disappointments.

Is Nail Polish with SPARKLES out of style?

I felt like painting my nails today and I found a nail polish I've had a long time that I haven't worn in years...It's a natural color, but it has sparkles in it.

I put it on but don't know how I feel about it.

Is it out of style to wear nail polish with sparkles, tacky, or do you like it?

Also, I'm in my 30's....is it age appropriate or does that matter?

Is Nail Polish with SPARKLES out of style?
Wow I used to love the sparkle nail polish!

You wear it girl!

Nothing to be ashamed of, and I'm sure it looks hot on you.

It was the thing when I was younger, and I dont really know if its still in style anymore.. I think black is.. maybe they can start making black nail polish with glitter... that would be great =)
Reply:out of style? i have no idea.

throw it away! i have a red nail polish fetish, i have no idea why but it's freaking SEXY! get them toes too!
Reply:It's safe to say that a woman's nails are low on the viewing list.

You could be wearing Hello Kitty Press-on nails and it wouldn't give me pause.

As another 30-something, anything that makes you feel young is all good.
Reply:I wouldn't wear it if it's just sparkles. Now if it's something like a maroon colour and has sparkles that are small and give it a kind of... shimmer, I would definately wear it. It's not tacky that way.
Reply:I think it's still fashionable. And even if it isn't, there's a possibility of you bringing it back into style. I'm 16 and I would wear it if I were you, try to make a statement.
Reply:I say do what feels good, if it makes you happy to have sparkles on your toe nails then go for it. It's not a faux pas like say bleaching out your hair and leaving dark roots-that's tacky!
Reply:im a nail tech... and usually, the people i see who wears sparkles are little kids. exoecially the ones with big glitter in them. for a rly long tme i havnt seen anyone wearing glitter...
Reply:If you are planning to play with your My Little Pony... sparkles are good to go!

Who cares what people think. Your personality is your style. Everything else is well, cosmetic.
Reply:Was it ever in style?

If so, it's probably passable for girls under the age of 13.
Reply:I wouldn't, but whatever. How long have you had that nail polish? It might be really thick now and not paint well anyway.
Reply:Dude, I don't care what anyone says.

I will wear sparkley nail polish till the day I die!!

Oh, and I'm 21
Reply:well if it is clear with sparkles it would look hott...but if it is like bright with colors that is juevinile....sooo idk
Reply:it think it looks cute if your in your teens idk about it if your 30
Reply:No I LOVE SPARKLERS
Reply:No way!!! i LOVE sparkles!!!
Reply:As a straight, middle aged man, probably viewed as a metrosexual, I prefer all women to have their nails properly manicured and polished - as do I. The color is of a personal choice, but best are ones that compliment your skin tones and attire at the moment. You don't want bright flashy green nails to go with bright blue dress, or well ... you get the idea. As far as sparkles go, I think sparkles are great, but depending on the color, some sparkle/glitter polishes are best for going out, new year's eve, holidays, birthdays, etc. as they are too bright for office wear, but they're fabulous in my opinion - such as OPI Shimmer, OPI Happy Anniversary, OPI Stars In My Eyes, etc. The dark colors that are shimmery or have fine sparkles, like OPI Ink, OPI My Private Jet, OPI Midnight In Moscow and there are some dark green polishes with shimmer, I think can be worn to the office or going out and usually look very rich and elegant. There are some that are lighter with shimmer that I think you could pull off during the day at the office such as OPI Hollywood Blonde and OPI I'm A Princess You're Not and OPI Sheer Enchantment.

Large flecks of sparkles/glitter with or without gaudy colors I think are best reserved for teenagers or youngsters and I haven't seen it used on any women that I'd find attractive.

Oh, and bye the way, I'm 5'10", 175 lb, play ice hockey, very fit, well dressed, push around a snow blower (finally put away) am 100% straight and married - and I like my nails polished :)

My nails are stained slightly yellow and I think it's from polish. I don't have any infection or anything and I look after my feet but I sometimes wear dark polish. Polish remover won't remove the stains and so I was wondering if you knew anything that would? Thanks x

Nails stained yellow from polish?
Well, I used to get that too but then I started using a clear base coat under my colored polish and it stopped discoloring my nails. Sally Hansen makes a great one that can also be used as a top coat to make your polish last longer. I think it's called something like "Double Duty" (Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart) for under $5.00. Good luck!
Reply:First, get a small bowl of water, add a splash of hydrogen peroxide and soak your nails for 10 minutes. This will mildly (and very gently) bleach away the discoloration. Then to get those harder-to-get-to stains, grab a nailbrush and some whitening toothpaste and rub briskly across your nails for a few minutes before rinsing with water.
Reply:it's normal, it's from the polish, let your nails breathe for a while and it should get better. Or try getting a professional pedicure with a light colored polish, they should be able to fix it. Good luck
Reply:I would always get that from red nail polish. I would just paint them a different color and the nixt time i took off that color it would be gone. Nothing really seems to take the stain away. Good luck!
Reply:All you need to do is leave your polish off for a while. You will see the stains but eventualli it wil go away x

Gummy Fingernail Polish i?

How do I get my fingernail polish back to normal without having to buy brand new polish? My bottles have been sitting in my make up bag and now that I need to use it, it has become gummy? How do I fix this?

Gummy Fingernail Polish i?
Use a nail polish solvent (here's a picture of the bottle so you will know what to look for http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I... ). You can probably find it at a beauty supply store, such as Sally's Beauty supply.

What ever you do, DO NOT shake the nail polish. This creates bubbles by mixing air into the polish, and bubbly nail polish looks really lumpy and terrible.

I suspect that your nail polish is gummy because it's starting to dry because it got hot sitting in your bag (unless it's really old), so in the future, be sure to store your nail polish at room temperature.

I hope I helped!
Reply:buy a nail polish solvent, just add a little tho.
Reply:pour a little tiny bit of nail polish remover in them
Reply:try shaking them up really hard.

Is nail polish flammable?

i got a little bit of nail polish on the wick of my candle, i took off most of the nail polish but some is stuck and i can't get it out. if i light the candle what will happen?

Is nail polish flammable?
yes, nail polish is flammable. it is very dangerous too. If you are not careful.
Reply:haha

yes

i was lookin at my black nail polish one day nd it said do not get near heat or flames so becuase it told me not to i took it and i put i on the stove and turned it on and it exploded..
Reply:Take it outside and light it. At least it wont blow up!
Reply:yes its flammable. Solution: just cut off the part of the candle wick that has nail polish on it.

If its not like the whole bottle and you light the wick, it it will probably just burn off. Just do it outside or in an open space just in case the flame is really high.
Reply:First, blow off your candle. Once it's cold, you can remove the nail polish, then cut off the wick. Remove a bit of the wax that so you can reuse your candle. Easy and don't waste your candle.

Take care.

Strengthening Nail Polish that Actually Works?

My fingernails are very soft and brittle. I've been trying a few different strengthening polishes, but haven't found one that works well. I've used Sally Hansen Diamond Strength, but it just flakes off the first day. I've also tried Sally Hansen No More Breaks, but it just seems to dry out my nails.

Has anyone found one that works really well?

Also - what about a long-lasting colour polish that actually stays on longer than a day?

Thanks! :)

Strengthening Nail Polish that Actually Works?
Nailtek and Nailtiques. Both of them have different formulas for different nail types, I think you need either II or III, just be sure it says "for brittle nails". It is a bit expensive.

For polish to stay, use a good base coat, 2 coats of color, and a good top coat, then re apply top coat every 3rd day
Reply:I had the same problem. I used the Sally Hansen system. It works great!
Reply:i use nail hardener by Mavala. i think it makes a difference. you should visit www.mavala.com to find out more
Reply:I would advise keeping your nails short, giving them time to gain strength before growing them longer. Keep some hand cream next to the sink and every time you wash your hands gentle push your cuticles back with a towel and apply some cream concentrating on the cuticles. I would keep a pot of cuticle oil or cream next to your bed and do the same at night. Essie can supply you with all these products and there nail varnishes are very durable. All my clients select Essie over the other brands. Jessica also do base coats for specific nail types. Also, make sure that when you file your nails you only file them in one direction and avoid excessive use of detergents and wear gloves when washing up.
Reply:If you really want to see a change on your nails, eat jello. YES jello will strength your nails and also taking a vitamin you can get over the counter at Walgreen's or Walmart. There are several brands. Good Luck.
Reply:get a manicure and buff regurlaly. Apply a top coat after any nail colour and it will last longer.
Reply:OPI Nail Envy. This stuff is the best strengthening/growth nail polish I have ever used. I swear by it and won't buy anything but. It is pretty pricey though, worth every penny. You can get it at any nail salon. If your local Wal-Mart has a nail salon, buy it there, you can usually get it for about $10 cheaper than salons. It costs between $10 and $20. Lasts a long time though it don't get thick and goopy.
Reply:no, it doesnt work,,,,,,, go for a manicure

Hi...do Polish guys make good friends? are they genuinely honest people??

There are a few Polish people working where I work in, they work hard. There is one who is extremely good looking, he is nice enough and is very very polite, though I often wonder if he is, like, too polite, some people are toooooo polite tha gives them a subtle falseness....he is nice to me though I wonder if I cramp his style..or is he genuine.thats why I asked if Polish guys make good mates?

Hi...do Polish guys make good friends? are they genuinely honest people??
You can't generalise. There are nice honest people in every society, but there's also people who are the opposite. Get to know this guy better, see which he is.
Reply:the polish guys i know are a bit rude and just...simple, i mean the ones who come to live in the uk are usually quite poor so they are kind of low class and the way they grew up was walking around the streets all day, and having fmailies who never stop swearing and just keep drinking a couple of vodka shots every night, and im not just making this up, i know what its like, im bulgarian, i lived around ppl like them, i never want to see them again, they were just so rude to me!

but it depends, if this polish guy got his education here, and works where u work, not as a builder or some sort i think he is different, not like the sommon Polish guys!
Reply:I'm a Polish guy, and I reckon I'm quite a decent guy, but not every person from the same country is the same. There are Polish people who I wouldnt be friends with, just as there are people from any country that I wouldnt be friends with. Its possible that he is being so polite because he worries that if he is not like that people will start being rude and make racist assumptions about him like 'all polish people are....whatever' thats what the girl a bit above has done...generalised if a pole is not educated here, they are not a good person.....
Reply:From my understanding the poles work twice as hard at friendship for half the payment of an Englishman and can also do your plumbing and building work for a reduced cost............................... THEY ARE PEOPLE LIKE YOU SPEAK TO THEM AND SEE IF YOU LIKE THEM, i can pretty much guarantee that all polish people are not identical, some you will like, some you may not!!!!
Reply:REALLY? Come on, are we not all human. The only way to find the answer to this Q is by making a friendship with him and only time will tell, if we all knew this answer before actually making friends, maybe we would not make any at all?

What differentiates a good friend from a bad one anyway? Those whom have been friends for 30, 40 or 50 years, have all had their differences and that's what makes their friendships last so long- if we all gave up at the first hurdle these friendships would not be built to last now would they?

I know you probably don't want to hear this, but please try not to be so shallow.

xxNO OFFENCE INTENDEDxx
Reply:Dude there are pigs in every forest, some Polish are cool, some are idiots. Same as everywhere else. Just don't try and beat any of them at drinking vodka, coz you WILL lose.
Reply:i dont know, not many polish people in school
Reply:Judge people on who they are not their nationality etc.
Reply:Might as well say that all poles are good friends, all russians are good cooks, all scots are funny and all germans are kind - accept that everyone is different regardless of age, nationality and colour.

Take the guy as you find him!
Reply:Hey, if a person is Polish and a person is, say, Swedish, they are still the same person, so you can't just generalize too that all Polish people are hard workers.
Reply:why does his nationality matter if he is a good guy he is a good guy

How to polish a wooden table top ?

I have a nice looking wooden table which has all kinds of ink spots as well as lost finishing on top. I would like to remove those spots and polish the table. I am not looking for a paint which changes the whole color of the table. Rather I am looking for a polish which enhances the wood itself and looks similar to the legs (shiny). Not sure what I need to buy and use on it. Please help.

How to polish a wooden table top ?
Sounds like you should sand the top down and redo it with a gloss varathane if the legs are shiny.
Reply:use mr.sheen and a yellow cloth with red stitching (: very good BUT dont get on laminate flooring or you'll be falling all over the place.
Reply:You would need to sand the top down and refinish it with polyurethane or some other sealer.
Reply:Murphy Soap Oil works well to polish and bring back wood.
Reply:Ink spots will need to be removed with mineral spirits or some other solvent of the specific ink you have. You will also want to do a general cleaning and perhaps abrade the surface as part of preparation.

Polish means different things between UK and US, so I'm assuming you mean UK polish = US finish.

Polyurethane, while highly abrasion resistant, is not the best choice for top coating as it has adhesion issues. If the finish is the original factory finish and it's less than 100 years old, is probably lacquer. You can buy a brushing lacquer and add a few new coats.

If you have ever used a silicone containing formulation (e.g., Pledge), you will probably have fish-eye problems. The best solution for this is to first spray on a couple of very light coats of shellac (aerosol cans available) to seal in the silicone oil and be a barrier coat.

How to polish metal?

what's a good way to polish metal? I need to know how to polish iron, steel and aluminam.

How to polish metal?
The first questions that come to my mind are "What metal?" and "Why?". Some things should not be polished because they will lose value.

The Muse
Reply:Not all metals can be polished. Every metal has a partner to be polished. In the sense that metal can stick to another metal. Aluminium can be polished with tin. Just heat the tin and apply on Aluminium it will be sticked. Steel is a polished material so you need not to be polished. I don't know for iron. sorry.
Reply:I used to polish tons of brass and we used never-dull and brasso. Those should work as long as you have a smooth surface. Make sure you have some soft rags to wipe up the cleaner and polish the metal.
Reply:Depends on what kind of metal it is sometimes.

I use baking soda with water to form a paste sometimes or toothpaste to clean some metals up then polish with a Sunshine polishing cloth.

Using nail polish to draw pictures on skin.?

So, recently I've been drawing this cute little heart on my left wrist with pen, marker e.t.c. But they always wash off so quickly.

So I tried drawing it with nail-polish. The nail-polish is the perfect colour and It stays on well. Is there anything wrong with this? Like, being dangerous for my health etc?

Using nail polish to draw pictures on skin.?
Nail polish IS a dangerous and toxic chemical. It's the same with Sharpies and permanent markers. Unless you would like to get ink and even leadpoisoning, I would stop with the nail polish. Ink pens are less likely to give any problems.
Reply:no its fine
Reply:you shouldnt draw on your skin at all especially wit toxic nailpolish. its so dangerous
Reply:Never, never, never use nail polish on your skin, especially for recreation like your doing. Sometimes my nail polish stains my nails (HARD to get it off might i add) and if it can do that imagine what it could do to your skin!!! If your gonna do that...get a tattoo. ;-)

Sincerly, Candiecane
Reply:if its non toxic it should be perfectly fine.
Reply:Nope its totally fine. Don't use sharpie's if you keep doing this cuz this one girl in my school used to draw stuff on her wrists all the time with sharpies until one day her veins started turning black (no lie). It was really gross. Nail polish should be fine tho except I'm surprised it doesn't itch when it starts to peel off..

White nail polish?

Does anyone know where i can get PURE white nail polish? I've tried many brands, but they all go on being translucent and not a thick/solid opaque white. I need them to do the tips of my fingernails like how they do it in a french mani.

I don't have any beauty parlors in my mall. So can anyone recommend me a drugstore brand? And how much would the nail polish cost? (Preferably inexpensive-under $5 please?)

White nail polish?
It's not good for your nails, but I have always use white out lol
Reply:I use

Sinfulcolors Professional, and they are REAL WHITE.

(Mines snow me white or something like that).

http://www.walgreens.com/store/pickcolor...

I use them for french nails, but it works for other uses. YOu can't see anything underneath that can be seen in your bare nails.

You can buy it at walgreens only for 1.99! maybe even 2 for 3 dollars. (thats what i got them for)

But for pale pink, it didn't work the same way.

Oh, and, for french tips, start out using tape. (just a tip) but now I'm used to it so I can do it freehand with the sinful colors nail polish brush that came with the nail polish! it really works well!
Reply:sally beauty supply.!!
Reply:I use revlon white nail polish. I think it's about $4, though I really don't know.
Reply:sephora .
Reply:Sally Hansen makes a french manicure kit. Comes with the white and natural color. It is about $5 maybe $6 dollers but you get 2 full size polishes. Also the white is very white! Im sure it will work well for you.
Reply:cover girl boundless color in white. it goes on pure white, not transulent. ive tried it, its awesome!

Guys + nail polish?

This is kind of a weird question, but guys: does the colour of a girl's nail affect what you think about her? Like if she wears black nail polish, do you think of her as goth? Or if she wears pink, do you see her as a girly-girl?

Also, what is your favourite colour of nail polish to see on a girl?

** I put this in Singles + Relationships because I know guys won't be looking in the "Beauty" section of YA.

Guys + nail polish?
Good question! I am personally a a guy and think that it totally affects they way i think about her. Yes and Yes to black and pink excatly! I like the pinkish redish category thats more girly, with a cool design on the index finger or something thats my favorite.

I hate when that happens, use some Shout or stain remover on it them throw it in the laundry. I have gotten a bunch of stains on my clothes and stain remover takes it right out!!
Reply:Removing Nail Polish from Fabric

1. Place the fabric face down on a clean white cloth or paper towels and blot with acetone (Caution: Do not use acetone on fabrics containing acetate or triacetate. It will melt these fibers!).

2. Rinse with clear water.

3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 until blotting no longer transfers the stain to the cloth or paper towels.

4. Apply a prewash stain remover.

5. Launder.
Reply:you need to take it to the cleaners, they will be able to remove it without hurting the dress.
Reply:dont try remover it wouldnt do anything to remove the nail polish

Is Nail Polish Remover working on the Cold Sore?

k so someone told me that u could use nail polish remover to get rid of cold sores well i used it and then i had quit putting some on the cold sore for 2 days and they were back like it really swelled up my lip so for how long do i have to keep applying the nail polish remover??? FOR LIFE??

Is Nail Polish Remover working on the Cold Sore?
what??!!! NO STOP...that's toxic!!! ur gonna get poisoned! just invest in some over the counter medicine....sure it's kind of expensive, but hey its ur health!!!!
Reply:do not use nail polish remover on your skin; especially if it contains acetone.

get some lysine ointment at the pharmacy or vitamin shop near you. it'll be well worth it.

not very expensive.
Reply:1st of all, don't use nail polish remover. It's the alcohol in it that your friend thinks helps, so just use normal rubbing alcohol (only a little!).

2nd, if you don't want to buy actual medicine, a few home therapies that work (but can take a couple applications) are:

-Sucking on Tums

-Holding an UNLIT match to it (this hurts badly, but neutralizes the sore).

-Gargling with saltwater

-Gargling with 1 part water, 1 part hydrogen peroxide

Is nail polish still good 6 months after an expiry date?

I recently bought some nail polish from Mary Kay and noticed that it expired in October 2005 . I didn't even know nail polish had an expiry date. It seems okay , but just curious if the quality will not be as good , whether or not it will last as long, etc. Thanks !

Is nail polish still good 6 months after an expiry date?
As long as it is tightly capped, it should last many YEARS past the expiry date. When you (re)open it, stir

the contents if there is any visible separation or stratification. The expiration date is there to encourage you to discard and purchase new and has little to do with the actual shelf life of the product.
Reply:Probably will not be as good since the chemicals will have worn down. That's the part that will likely not be as strong...
Reply:You can still use it, but you won't get the same results. It's better to just let the consultant know that it's already expired, and she should replace it for you.
Reply:Polish has a shelf life of about two years especially if stored properly.
Reply:i have had nail polish for 2 yrs and it is still good,,,,just depends on the situation if it gets to hot or cold then it might get ruined,,,,and then again some i've had for 7-8 months and it ended up going bad,,,,u can tell when it gets bad

Does nail polish damage nails if kept on?

as a student at an all-girls catholic high school, we have strict strict dress codes. i express myself through nail polish.

after a few days of 1 color, i remove 1 color and redo them in another. will this damage my nails?

if so, how many days should nail polish be worn and then removed?

Does nail polish damage nails if kept on?
Try not to remove the polish too often because even non-acetone remover has a drying effect to it. I would suggest no more than once a week. Start with clean, oil-free nails. If you washed your hands recently, then let them dry for at least an hour before applying polish. This will help to keep any moisture from getting trapped in between the nail and the polish.

Always use a good quality basecoat. This will help prevent staining of your natural nails, and it will also give the polish something to adhere to, and that will make it last longer. There are other brands available, but I like Stickey, by Creative Nail Design. OPI makes a good basecoat as well. Apply one coat of basecoat, wait a minute or so - it doesn't have to be dry - then apply the polish in 2 to 3 thin layers, rather than 1 thick layer. Use the 3 stroke method - once down the middle, then once on either side. In between coats, you only need to let it dry for a couple of minutes before applying the next coat.

After the final coat, wait about 3-5 minutes, then apply a semi-thick (but not too much!) layer of Fast Dry Topcoat, such as Seche Vite, or Out The Door. Both of these topcoats will help to dry the layers of polish underneath it. And it will not only protect your polish, but it will give them a nice, high gloss shine too.Make sure the topcoat is clearly labeled as being "Fast Dry." This kind of topcoat is different from regular clear nail polish because of its ability to dry all the layers of polish. Regular clear polish doesn't speed the drying process at all, but will take longer to dry because its just one more layer of polish added to your nails.

Depending on the brand of Fast Dry Topcoat that you have used, your nails will be dry "to the touch" in about 1 to 5 minutes. But that doesn't mean that they are hardened yet. You still have to be careful with your newly polished nails for about 30-60 minutes until it has completely rid itself of all the solvents, and is then hardened on your nails. The Fast Dry Topcoat will have dried - but not hardened the polish very quickly, so at least you don't have to be AS careful with them, but still do be a bit careful if you want to avoid smudging them.

BTW, for those who said to let your nails "breathe," this is a common misconception. Nails do not breathe. They don't have lungs, or gills! They are made up of live cells only at the base of the nail, in a non exposed area called the nail Matrix. This is where the nail grows out from. What you see as being the nail itself is made of Keratin. These are dead cells though. Its the same as your hair. It is only living cells at the root, and then the rest of the hair strand are dead cells. Anyway, there is no need to let your nails do this. They don't require it. But DO apply a good quality cuticle oil, such as Solar Oil, 2-3 times a day. Apply to each nail at the cuticle area, then massage into your cuticles, and your nails too. It will help to keep them moisturized, and healthy.

Avoid using products to make the drying process go faster, such as these spray cans of Nail Enamel Dryer because it will take away from the shine. Also, don't blow on your nails either. The best way to dry them is to just let them air dry. They will shine quite nicely by drying them in this way.
Reply:Make sure you use a base coat that doesn't have formaldehyde in it. Basically your danger is the nails drying out and turning yellow. Formaldehyde, besides being dangerous, is very drying.
Reply:i heard that nail polish doesent let your nails breath or something like that and i also heard that nail polish remover was especially bad
Reply:it can stain them since most polishes still contain dyes. they also can lose moisture. using remover takes away moisture, so make sure you don't always remove then reapply, litterally let your nails "breathe" after removal. it doesn't have to be removed every couple of days, you can use a clear top coat every other day to keep the color vibrant, and to prevent chipping. but if you want to change color often, wear one color for a week, let your nails breathe for the weekend and rub some olive oil into them to keep them moisturized. when you're ready, remove any oil from the nail (if you've recently put any on) with a remover (try a non-acetone remover for a while, it will be less drying) and apply polish.

Can you polish gemstones with a common drill?

My kids did some "mining" at one of those tourist places. They have several good size chunks of aquamarine, one as big as a fist. They were charging a lot to polish them so we passed. Is there some drill bit I could use with my handheld electric drill, and do some polishing myself? I don't need perfection - the kids are like ravens, they like shiney objects.

Can you polish gemstones with a common drill?
You're going to have a really hard time. And I mean hard. Most gemstones are high on Mohs Hardness Scale, which geologists and gemologist use to measure the relative hardness of minerals. A diamond is the hardest mineral, which is why you often see diamond drill bits for tough jobs. These drill bits are not solid diamonds, though (talk about a lot of $$$$ !), but are instead tiny diamonds that are basically glued to the drill bit. Most minerals will actually rip the diamonds off the bit! I experienced this a few weeks ago while trying to drill a hole in a thin piece of agate. Using a high quality diamond bit, I got less than a mm into it before the diamond pieces were totally gone. (FYI, diamond has a hardness of 10 while agate has a hardness between 6 and 7, roughly that of quartz varieties like amethyst.) I've since talked to a gemologist about this and learned that you have to use a wet drill and even then a single piece of a hard mineral can take several bits.

So, now that you have all the background info, the short answer is that, depending on what minerals you have, you may be able to polish them with a diamond bit drill, but it would take an extrodinary amount of money, effort, and time if you don't have professional tools.

A rock polisher can be a fun idea, but most cheap ones won't work very well. And even the expensive ones take a long time and make lots of noise. But, your kids might enjoy the experience. Another alternative is to get a gem and mineral book with photos. Many minerals look vastly different when they are cut and/or polished. Your kids can try to identify what they have (if you don't already know) and see what their "treasure" might look like if it were cut or polished (and if they were gem quality).

Edit: I've just reread your email, and saw that you said your kids have several pieces of aquamarine. Aquamarine is a variety of the mineral beryl, which has a hardness of about 8. Unfortunately, that means it's going to be even harder to cut and polish. :(
Reply:A rock tumbler is inexpensive and fun. But if you want to polish by hand, use a dremel with a polishing head.
Reply:yup

you can attach ANYTHING to a drill

if you use some elastics and put the drill in a vise, that would be best

then get dremmel attachments maybe, you can even make facets, and use some rouge to for the final polish, try some amethysts maybe, table cut , etc, like $1 each

Help this morning I was wearing these light brown/tan colored capris and I got SILVER finger nail polish on them and they were BRAND NEW! please help! My mom %26amp; I have tried Finger Nail Polish remover %26amp; aftershave %26amp; bug spray! PLEASE HELP! I need them clean %26amp; fast!

Finger Nail Polish In My NEW PANTS?!?!?
try Goo Gone or OOPS! available at wal-mart and other drugstores.

Has any of that stuff changed the Tan color?

Maybe you can just ignore the silver nail polish, or if it's on the lower leg, cut them and hem them shorter(oh sorry, I see you need it off fast) try a nail file or butter knife, maybe you can scrape it off.

Good Luck!

Is it in a place you could tie something around it to hide it! like a scarf or belt or something???

How come when I TRY to mark socks, or a sweater with nail polish, or a sharpie, it always washes out!
Reply:How about trying some products specifically made to remove stains from fabric?

Try using products like Spray %26amp; Wash, Zout and/or color safe bleach, then wash the pants.
Reply:get some pure accetone

its like nail polish remover but super super strong

its great

in the mean time keep it wet with nail polish remover so it doesnt dry ok??
Reply:soak them, pour nail polish remover on them, SCRUB the heak out of them, and then put some conditioner on it fades the color. Im a professonal Good Luck
Reply:I've gone through that and I've done a lot of research about it. Apparently, the ONLY thing that seems to work is a product called Motsenbocker's Lift Off #3. It can be found at The Home Depot in the paint department for approximately $7. Good Luck !

.
Reply:Relax... All you need to do is put spray and wash spray and put it in the washing machine.
Reply:Try Acetone
Reply:dish soap, PAINT thinner, rubbing alcohol, hair spray
Reply:Try "goof off" or "oops", but don't use very much and rinse it off imediately when the polish disolves.
Reply:are you using acetone fingernail polish remover? I would think that would work wayyyyyy better than non-acetone and poor it on dont be shy

Could I polish my cell phone?

My Motorola C139 has a few scratches on it, near the edges and I would like to polish it. I would like to polish it now, because there's no way I could go to the store, since it's basically a storm out there. Snowing of course.

I hate driving in snow.

So can I use any of the following appliances, mixed, etc.? :

Dish Soap

Hand Soap

Liquid Soap

Cloth

Foil

If you don't know the answer don't tell me you don't know. I don't want to know if you don't know.

Could I polish my cell phone?
Sure what ever works
Reply:y'know...pee works fairly well
Reply:wait till u go to the store, or call them to get a new one if scratches bother u.......while u wait build a snow man
Reply:unless ur phone is waterproof otherwise u can't use any soap mix with water.u can only use a clean cloth but it won't work much on polishing.so it's better 4 u to change a new one.
Reply:if you want to ruin it it say's on instruction's not too use any of your list just use a dry cloth
Reply:Email the manufacturer or retailer. They'll tell you what you can use. Don't take the advise of a stranger - you could end up ruining the phone.
Reply:I would leave it alone because for one if you accidently get it wet it will ruin it, and if you use foil it will permanently damaged the surface by scratching it further. A cloth that is damp would clean it, but it will not remove the scratches.
Reply:Yes use a cloth
Reply:Wow you have an exciting life.
Reply:Since this question is being posed in "marriage and divorce", I'd consider divorcing you over such an inane question.

I hate driving in snow! I mean really now!
Reply:cloth, but why cant you wait a few days until the storm calms down??
Reply:well i've got nail polish on my phone and if you dont mind having a flashy cell then you could do that and cover up the scratches.
Reply:the scratches are there to stay sorry. nothing you can so about it. Just take a soft cloth dry and wipe it off. None of that other stuff will do a thing and getting it wet might destroy the electrical component
Reply:Best get a new one. You will enjoy what you did. Don't waste time trying to do something to something that was not meant to be.
Reply:i dont know
Reply:I wouldnt advise.
Reply:Hey you seems to be desprate, try using your toothpaste and scrubing hard with clean dry towel. you may have good results.

Black Nail Polish? Honest answers please.?

I am currently wearing black nail polish and when people see it they admittly thing I'm goth, dark, cold-hearted, or part of a gang of some sort. Why is this? I thought since most of the celebratities are wearing it that it showed some sort of class. And the reason some people think that I'm part of a gang is because I am African-American. What do think about black nail polish? Is it a good thing or is it bad? Oh yeah I put like a white strip on both of my middle fingers, does that say or mean anything? Thx sooo much!

Black Nail Polish? Honest answers please.?
I got the same thing i wore black nail polish to school and everyone and my friends thought i was goth but i think black nail polish is a good nail color but i haven't heard anything about gangs. But putting on a white strip just says your trying to be creative with your nails and cute but people don't realise that the pussycatdolls wear that kind of nail polish too and the dolls that are trying to be one wear it to but all i know just say forget what people say it's your thing.
Reply:outside of school I dont think anyone really notices or cares what color nail polish you wear

do what you like and what makes you happy
Reply:black or almost black red nail polish is a statement ...but doesnt mean a damn thing...execept you like black...stupid people who classify you over nailpolish arent worth your time anyways... also so what i fyou have white on your middle fingers....your making a statment of "being diffrent" good for you...screw anyone who judges you over somthing so dumb
Reply:The first I think of is Goth, because so many people who live that lifestyle wear black nail polish and lipstick. However if I was to really think my teenage years, this may have been the thing that I would do to show my individuality. I used to always say that I doesn't matter what I wear and how I looked- this was a part of my uniqueness.

Although it shouldn't matter, after 15 years of living in the professional world I find that It does matter because people have a visual of you before having the time afforded in getting to know a person.

If you are young, you should allow yourself time to get to know who you are and what you like; so allow yourself to be creative and in time you will come into your own.
Reply:Psh you are not gothic just cause you wear black nail polish.I mean wow just black nail polish just tell the people to shut up and mind they own business
Reply:I really like it but would probably only wear it on my toes. My work environment is too conservative.

It was in style last fall. I heard it no longer is, but just last Saturday I saw several girls getting manicures w/black nail polish. I say if you like it, wear it and don't worry about what anyone else thinks. The black nail polish looks great on darker complexions!
Reply:I like that black nail polish look. The celebrities are using I think a dark purple that looks black. Some I guess use black polish but u should not care what others think. It looks very nice and most people don't think like u do. Maybe it's the very young people, don't know. I use dark purple colors by OPI and Orly, these look black but aren't. Just be yourself and you probably don't look like a gang member so don't worry. If u like it and they don't that's their problem.
Reply:Black nail polish is not the best looking. If you do not want people to label you then do not use black. Black does not look good for polish anyway. Black looks better in other things like clothes.
Reply:Black nail polish is cool. I'm an African-American woman and I love black nail polish....What I've learned is that no matter what u do or what u wear or how u look someone is going to have something to say. Don't worry about it, just be yourself and you'll be fine.
Reply:I personally think that black polish is ugly, no matter who is wearing it, although I don't necessarily think the the people wear it are gang members. Neither do I believe that black people are gang members just because they are black. Don't take your fashion tips from the celebrities. Have really looked at some of the clothes, make-up and hairdos the celebrities are wearing these days? UUUUUGLY!! Develop your own style and wear the things that you really believe make you more attractive. I can assure you that black polish isn't one of them unless you are trying to attract a goth.
Reply:black nail polish is ugly when its not dressed up.

the only way i see black nail polish being cute is if u are wearing an outfit with black and another color in it.

like say if you have

pink blouse

pink rings, bracets, and earrings

black nail polish

black pants or skirt

black or pink shoes.

u have to dress up a color like black. now if u have black nail poilish and wear all black then people will think u are gothic. if you have black nailpolish on and dress boyish then people will think u are in a gang.

but if u dress stylish and have black nail polish they will think u are making a fashion statement.

girl dress that black nail polish up. u might be lookin so good that u get all ur friends wearing the same thing, matching black with any bright color.
Reply:Let them stereotype. At least you know what is in style and what's not. Black nails are very in right now. I don't know about the white stripe. I don't think it means anything. It's just when people see something different like black nails they freak out. It's really quite funny. They just don't have a sense of fashion.
Reply:Dont let anyone tell you that its not cool to wear something when you like it. if the they have a problem with black nail polish then its thier problem. And no it does not mean you are part of a gang some of my friends wear it and they do all sorts of stripes and poka dots on it. So its okay to wear black nail polish.
Reply:i think it`s cool %26amp; always wear black polish, usually in some kind of offbeat way, like having all the nails black except on the pinky of one hand i`ll have it pink, or having all the nails on one hand black, %26amp; doing the nails on the other hand silver, or whatever...people are just used to stereotyping others, so when they see something like black nail polish, they automatically think "goth"...what a load of ridiculous crap!!! just wear whatever u want, %26amp; let people think whatever they want!!! if u like it, that is the most important thing!!! as far as the white stripes u mentioned, i`m not aware of any meaning to that...

Black nail polish?

I just painted my nails black becaus ei think it is kida cute. My bbf hates the black nail polish. I not goth or anything i just like it.. what i ur opinion of black nial polish? Guys opinions would be great too.

Black nail polish?
i luv black polish %26amp; wear it all the time!!! my bf luvs it too!!! do what u want, be an individual!!!
Reply:hey i wear black nail polish all the time, and im the FARTHEST thing from goth or emo.... i personally think it looks good and i like it.... :0) good luck
Reply:I like it. I think its cute, I guess.
Reply:It is seen by many as being a goth thing but just because you wear it doesn't mean you're goth. I'm a guy and like to wear it from time to time. I'm not goth but just like the way it looks as long as it's not chipped. I wore my nails kinda medium long and squared painted black for last halloween. I kinda got used to it, they were fake nails and I wore them regularly for quite a while. Some girls who noticed seemed to be intrigued. However I don't think I'll be doing that for a while, found it hard to type and do stuff. Shorter is better. Black nail polish is still cool.
Reply:i like it
Reply:I think it has some negative connotations for some people because a lot of "goth" or "punk" styles go with it. Depending on what you wear with with the nail polish, it can look tacky or elegant.
Reply:not chipped AT ALL on short well manicured nails is cute. but chipped or on longer nails is either tacky, ugly or goth looking. you could try really dark maroon or grey instead of black too.
Reply:I love black nail polish.

it's so cute.
Reply:sorry not a guy! lol but i think black nail polish used to be a goth thing.. and im sure in some ways it still is, but its also become really trendy and chic recently.. so i think its cute!! sometimes i wear it, and then put on a light coat of something shimmery or sparkly over it just to make it girlier lol.. my favorite is black nail polish with a red sparkle over it.. its really cute!
Reply:Hey! well i doubt anyone would think you are a goth just because you wear black nail polish. Anyone can wear black nailpolish, its just the question of does it suit you or not! I'm sure it dus as you think so. Dont worry about a thing!!!! gd luk on your nailpolish dilema! lol :) x

Is nail polish good or bad for your nails?

I love to paint my nails! But im worrying if it damages my nails! I also really want my nails to get stronger and longer and i think have nail polish on my nails will help but i dont want to risk anything. Does anyone know the answer if its good or bad? Also, does anyone know any nails polishes that are really great and good for the nails?

Is nail polish good or bad for your nails?
It is both good and bad. Nail polish, applied correctly with a base coat, 2-3 layers of polish and topcoat, offers a hard protective coating to nails so that breakage is lessened. However, constantly polished nails become weaker with time. The nails themselves don't have to be as strong since they are being protected by layers of polish. I like to let my nails breathe for a few days after 2 or 3 polishings. (Is that a word?) :) It keeps them from getting too dependent on the extra protection and allows time for conditioning between applications. I opt for a more expensive base/top coat with less emphasis on the color coat.
Reply:NAIL POLLISH ISNT BAD! BUT IT CAN CAOUSE CANCER! THE REASON IT CAUSES CANCER IS BECAUSE THE NAIL POLISH GETS INTO YOUR BLOOD! BUT THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN GET CANCER IS IF YOU NEVER TAKE OFF NAIL POLISH! LIKE IF YOU ALWAYS KEEP NAIL POLISH ON! Report It

Reply:LOL, nail polish can not cause cancer.... Report It

Reply:Well even though they may be good for your nails there not good for your health. The same thing found in nail polish (Acetone) is the same chemicals found in ciggarettes.
Reply:ALWAYS use acetone-free remover. Keep your nails polished at all times because it keeps them from getting damaged. Start with a moisturizing base coat, like Nailtek (great stuff), then polish and keep topcoating every other day.
Reply:i think it is good for them. well scratch that.. they might be.. idk.. lol but i do know that acrilic nails are bad.. i think that nail polish should be ok tho..

Goopy nail polish???

after u use nail polish for a while it turns goopy even if is almost full.waste of nail polish. is there a way to fix that and/or prevent it?

Goopy nail polish???
To prevent it, you have to use it up soon. To fix it, added a couple drops of nail polish remover inside the jar and shake. It will thin out the goops.
Reply:just add water
Reply:Add a little nail polish remover to help thin it out, but you will lose some shine. So make sure you use a top coat to add the shine.
Reply:sometimes when nail polish gets too old it gets goopy so try to use it up within 3 months. or i have all ways heard that you can put water or a little bit of nil polish remover then shake.
Reply:You can add a little nail polish remover and then the nail polish with go back to normal.
Reply:Add a very little nail polish remover into it. Too much and you lose the gloss.
Reply:Usually the cheep kind of nail polish is worse quality. If you shake the nail polish container a lot, it gets more full. It helps stirr up the mixture more, so it isn't gooopy.
Reply:its bcuz u must close the top on tightly..
Reply:Go to a good beauty supply store like Sally Brent. They sell nail polish thinner and it brings back old polish to a brand new consistency. I have used it in 4 month old polish and it went on like I had just bought it. You can't buy it at a drug store or in a department store though.
Reply:Geez, don't add water. I put mine in a cup of hot water, it'll make it nice and smooth.
Reply:try rolling the bottle ( not shaking it) between your hands. this remixes the polish without cuasing bubbles. also dont store in the fridge. this speeds up goopy! room temp is best!
Reply:The only thing that I do to fix this is mix a bit of clear in with the other polish, the color stays the same but it wont be as thick.
Reply:To prevent it, put it in the refrigerator
Reply:i think that u just shake it... easiest solution i can think of

Reply:yup
