Is Nail Polish Remover working on the Cold Sore?
what??!!! NO STOP...that's toxic!!! ur gonna get poisoned! just invest in some over the counter medicine....sure it's kind of expensive, but hey its ur health!!!!
Reply:do not use nail polish remover on your skin; especially if it contains acetone.

get some lysine ointment at the pharmacy or vitamin shop near you. it'll be well worth it.

not very expensive.
Reply:1st of all, don't use nail polish remover. It's the alcohol in it that your friend thinks helps, so just use normal rubbing alcohol (only a little!).

2nd, if you don't want to buy actual medicine, a few home therapies that work (but can take a couple applications) are:

-Sucking on Tums

-Holding an UNLIT match to it (this hurts badly, but neutralizes the sore).

-Gargling with saltwater

-Gargling with 1 part water, 1 part hydrogen peroxide
