How to polish metal?

what's a good way to polish metal? I need to know how to polish iron, steel and aluminam.

How to polish metal?
The first questions that come to my mind are "What metal?" and "Why?". Some things should not be polished because they will lose value.

Reply:Not all metals can be polished. Every metal has a partner to be polished. In the sense that metal can stick to another metal. Aluminium can be polished with tin. Just heat the tin and apply on Aluminium it will be sticked. Steel is a polished material so you need not to be polished. I don't know for iron. sorry.
Reply:I used to polish tons of brass and we used never-dull and brasso. Those should work as long as you have a smooth surface. Make sure you have some soft rags to wipe up the cleaner and polish the metal.
Reply:Depends on what kind of metal it is sometimes.

I use baking soda with water to form a paste sometimes or toothpaste to clean some metals up then polish with a Sunshine polishing cloth.
Reply:they sell something called brasso
Reply:With john bull
Reply:the guy above is correct
