Nail polish out of carpet?

I spilled pink nail polish all over my beige rug I immediately went to the computer for some answers and read that I should put nail polish remover on it. 3 bottles later and countless scrubs with my bissell steam machine I just have one giant pink blob of a mess. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE HELP

Nail polish out of carpet?
Lick it!

Instead of going immediately to the computer you should off put the nail polish remover!

your like so so dumb!

anyhow buy new carpet!

and who the hell polishes their nails on carpet?
Reply:Uh-oh, lol, ouch! Hope you can get it out, I agree with the others and try that goo gone product, you did the right thing and put on the nail polish remover right away so it probably helped quite a bit, but now try this product and it should take it out!
Reply:I doubt it will come out. You might want to call a professional but tell them everything you did to it, especially the steam machine. That may have set it in.
Reply:Dont try to remove the stain yourself now as more damage to the rug is anticipated.

You should take the rugh to the professional carpet cleaners ...
Reply:Ouch... Try rubbing alcohol, detergent, and prayers.
Reply:goo gone it really works i spilled it allllllllllllllllllll over my carpet once and about died... i used goo-gone and my parents didnt know!

Reply:Is the carpet shag? You could try cutting the spot with scissors, if it's just isolated to the top of the bristols. It sounds like it's already ruined so this would, of course, be at last resort. Is the carpet ordinary? (not specialized) Go to your local carpet store and they can possibly match the spot and have someone come in and replace that section of the carpet. Actually after re-reading your post, your saying "rug". If this is true then bring your rug into a carpet store and see if they can help you. Maybe a dry cleaner? Good luck!
Reply:Michelle, try Goof Off. That is a xylene-based solvent. The problem isn't really the polish itself (enamel) but rather the pigment in the polish. My little girl did this to my comforter and we tried Stainz-R-Out which we got on ebay, and it did work. Nothing will take it out completely, I'm afraid, though a carpet specialist might have another method that I'm unaware of.
Reply:try dish soap...i know it sounds like it won't work but just try it...i truthfully don't know if it will work but i paint a lot and get acrylic and oil paint all over my clothes and hands and it always comes off with dish soap
Reply:acetone
